Weeden is nothing special, but don't sleep on him. I think he (along with our improved D) can't keep us afloat without Tony and Dez for a while. Here's how I see the next 8 weeks going:

    @ Falcons: Loss
    Saints (no Drew Brees): Win
    Patriots: Loss
    @ Giants: Win
    Seahawks: Loss
    Eagles: Win
    @ Bucs: Win
    @ Dolphins: Loss

That'd put us at 6-4 on the season. I could see us losing at N.Y. too though so at worst 5-5. Then hopefully we get Romo back for week 10 against Carolina. Could easily still take the division.
Weeden is trash bro, wait til we face a good defense, we'll be back here discussing how terrible his reads and decision making are.

Their best bet is to go crazy on short routes and screens and hope for the defense to carry the team like the Dilfer lead Ravens.

Not a bad trade for a 5th rounder and we get their 7th pick as well. I wonder who called who tbh

    Also..

    DeMarco

Injured hamstring today at practice.. Now instead of -3 yards rushing it's gonna be -30

Lots of at DeMarco for getting paid, maybe had Dallas kept him or had an actual running attack, Romo wouldnt be forced to throw it nearly 40 times a game and wouldn't be a vegetable right now.

Stupid. Cowboys wouldn't pay 42 million but didn't offer him pennies either.

The attack on Sunday was pretty balanced. Team finished at 33-34 passes to rushes respectively. The play he was injured on wasn't the fault of ty pass protection either, was a mild tackle but happens.

ever since scandy man got hurt in training camp this season has had the injury cloud over them. dez, romo, gregory, lee, leary...key guys we need hurt. hardy, mcclain on suspension hurts but we knew that was happening coming in.

so far, the failure to establish a running game and the defense has let us down in both losses. i know we're thin at the d line and lb but we haven't made any adjustments to stopping the short and intermediate routes. two weeks in a row we let the qb set in the pocket and pick us apart with dink n dunk passing. imagine what tom brady is going to do next week.

the offensive line did fine last night but weeden has the worst pocket awareness i have seen. dude just drops back and stands still in the pocket smh. i do give weeden props for not completely being trash but it isn't enough. we don't have the players to get by with weeden. its a shame we got to the point where we're clamoring for matt cassell to start. hopefully the front office addresses the qb position in the draft or has a plan for a competent backup if/when romo goes down.

i'm not giving up on the season like a lot of fans. only 4 games in, a shaky division with wins against both the giants and eagles. anything can happen in the nfl and i want to see how the defense responds with hardy, mcclain and gregory coming back and playing as a complete unit. i'm ruling out sean lee coming back next week. its hurts to say but he might want to look into an early retirement. the injuries and concussions are just too much.

Told yall I didn't have a good feeling about Lee. Then Dunbar got hit too. Cowboys did an awful job at building their skill positions IMO. There were too Dez reliant and it's really showing now with no talented RBs, no talented WR's (TWill is an ok 3rd WR, but not great IMO) and no depth at QB.

I get it, they invested into their o-line which was really smart; with Romo/Dez healthy they easily are the best team in their division. These injuries just killed them though.

They just don't seem to have the RB that they need to establish the running over a full game. McFadden seems to be done. Now Dunbar is out. Randall is good for what he does but he's not a true RB that can run the ball up the gut and get a yard or two out of nothing. Anytime the linen is stacked, McFadden, Randall, and Dunbar never seem to even get back to the line of scrimmage. I don't know that Christine can do that either. They didn't do him any favors giving him the ball in a crucial 3rd and 1 when the defense knew what was coming.

The play calling was awful IMO. Run run pass. Run run pass. Run pass pass. Seemed like it was always 2nd and long. Until they were in a hurry at the end. Saints secondary was weak and getting penalties all night. Should have attacked them more and them more early then break off some runs.

Easier said than done I guess as Weedan's throws are pretty damn inconsistant.

yea man, having demarco back would benefit us and him. he was the perfect back for our system. i thought randle could handle being an every down back but he's nothing more than a change of pace guy. he's good to spell the starter and take advantage of a tired defense but he doesn't have enough to carry the load. DMC is trash. losing dunbar sucks because we finally got to see what he can do with getting more playing time/staying healthy.

agree with you on the playcalling. linehan and garrett haven't done anything to help the team other than make the offense vanilla as possible and give weeden 2 reads with nothing over 10 yards. but at the same time, we just don't have the personnel to be an aggressive offense the entire game like we saw on the last offensive possession. i think asking weeden to win games without an above average defense and the only reliable playmaker being a hurt witten, is asking him of too much. he did okay last night all things considered. but okay from weeden isn't enough.

oh year, bonehead brandon carr's holding penalty really hurt us too. i can't wait for that guy and his inflated contract GTFO

*tyler patmon dropped a pick 6 too

*12 men on the field penalty moving saints into fg range

agree on Demarco. I didn't think it was that critical with a healthy Cowboys team but then need that type of back now.

the 12 men was a killer. Then shuttling players in on the play in OT.

The only reason this game was close was that the Saints coaching and discipline was even worse. Was Payton really wondering if he could refuse the player out of bounds penalty? then burning the TO on that challenge.
Hopefully, getting the defensive players back next week can at least put some pressure on Brady. But it's just about the worst possible timing to have to play the Pats.

They might as well put McFadden at QB. He's got a good arm and can at least run (sort of).

I'm also concerned about how Romo and Dez come back. Everyone seems to think it's automatic that they win those games but there's gonna be some rust on both of them.

there will be some rust with dez and romo when they come back for sure. but just having them out there will make defenses have to account for them and will help getting the run game going. i'm just ready for the bye week to hurry up and get here.

Do people have enough data on Twill & the rest of the garbage crew yet? Skill positions are awful on Dallas. No playmakers outside of Dez.
