Like I said it doesn't matter what you as a liberal think it only matters how conservatives perceive him and right now he's the 2nd choice behind trump. Don't worry he won't run on the democrat ticket you can have your princess.
It doesn't matter who dumbass conservatives pick. They can "perceive" all they want. The general public isn't voting for a cretin like Cruz or a troll like Trump. They'll join McCain and Romney in the GOP graveyard.

Infinite are you ready comrade, can you feel it? The earth will once again shake under the footsteps of her mightiest children.
My childhood Republican buddy who served in military likes Cruz. It would help if Biden ran against Hillary.

Republican foreign policy is a mess but yet even most Democrats agree to an extent. Religious segments are annoying but so is Democrat pandering to the "less fortunate". Abortion is really the one topic Republicans need to turn the page. People especially in the USA should be capable of affordable if not free abortions. Don't need poor and/or dumb reproducing. Some against contraceptives and abortions, what is the logic

So tonight was an indicator that it's gonna be Bush-Kasich right? Bush's ties with Latinos can help him win the Latino vote and Kasich being okay with sexuals will win the gay vote. The Republicans got this.

I really hope Trump runs as a 3rd party candidate. It would be awesome.
    >trump running third party

It doesn't matter what Romney was. I still remember Fox news in their little Republican fantasy land thinking Romney was going to win in a landslide and got their viewers' hopes up. Even Romney was fooled

Bush was favored in the debate by only like 2% of drudge readers. This mentality of "you have to be a moderate center left" to win is absurd. This election will be won by either trump or Cruz the two guys who actually stand by their beliefs. People are sick of fake.
You mean the primary? Sure. But neither party can win the general election with their base alone. They're going to have to cater to the center, latinos, women, etc sooner or later...

Trump might be able to manage because his record is everywhere... he can be say and do whatever, he'll get a pass because he's basically a walking reality show.

    Cruz has no chance, IMO

I loved his answer to Megyn Kelly, especially the smirk on his face when she quoted him as saying "you look better on your knees"
Trump has a good sense of humor. Like Mark Cuban said, it's just refreshing to have someone raw like him.

Let's be honest. Kasich and Bush are the only two Republicans that can win a general election and Bush's family is the anchor around his neck so Kasich is really the GOP's only hope. The rest of them are dullards, pretenders, or bat crazy.
I agree. I was most impressed with Kasich tonight, but I think Bush will be in it for the long haul. No one else really impressed me tonight. Trump was terrible, but he still has a big lead for now. However, I think he will burn out and the conservatives will move away from him especially if he continues to have more performances like he did tonight.

Cruz and Rubio are really one and the same and they won't sustain a long primary campaign. Carson looked like he had no clue overall and no way he will win any of the primaries. He's really wasting his time and everyone else's by being in the race.

In the end, if the GOP want any chance, they're gonna have to go with Bush and Kasich as the frontrunners for the primary. I think Bush will win it in the end, but Kasich seems to be a really quality candidate.

Ohio Journalists On The Real John Kasich: Anti-Union, Anti-Choice, Anti-Marriage Equality

His efforts to cut state spending and balance the budget did reduce taxes, but put more of a burden on local governments,

Then there are his often-forgotten fights against abortion and gay rights, according to Chrissie Thompson, a Cincinnati Enquirer state government reporter since 2013.

The recent U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide stemmed from the Ohio-based Obergefell vs. Hodges case, in which plaintiff Jim Obergefell sued to be listed on his spouse's death certificate as the surviving spouse. Defendant Richard Hodges, the Ohio director of public health, is a Kasich appointee.

"The department of health was the lead defendant in Obergefell vs. Hodges in the gay marriage debate," Thompson said. "Kasich opposed same-sex marriage and he authorized the fight to protect our gay marriage ban."

Since he took office, Kasich has also signed restrictive abortion bills that have led to half of the state's 16 abortion clinics closing, with the potential for more to close in the near future.

"He had signed some abortion restrictions and those have resulted in the closure of some of our abortion clinics in Ohio," Thompson said. "He does not like to talk about it a lot."

roposal known as Senate Bill 5, Kasich's effort to clamp down on collective bargaining rights for public employee unions. Similar to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's more publicized union fight, the Kasich measure was passed and signed into law, but drew harsh criticism. It was eventually voted down overwhelmingly via a ballot referendum later that year.

"Senate Bill 5 was hugely controversial," recalls Laura Bischoff, a 14-year statehouse reporter with the Dayton Daily News. "They wanted to really gut collective bargaining rights for public employees and it sparked huge protests at the statehouse, bigger than I've ever seen."

Bischoff also pointed to Kasich's privatizing of some prisons, a move that drew corrections officer complaints about conditions and resulted in an audit that found 47 violations in one private ins ution.

"There is a question as to whether it saved money more than projected, the union that represents corrections officers said it was bad," Bischoff said. "There was one audit report that was really bad about conditions the inmates were living in."

Kasich's economic stimulus program, JobsOhio, is another point of contention, according to reporters. The private, non-profit agency was created to help spark job growth, but in a secretive fashion that exempts it from state open public record laws and limits state audit oversight. (sounds just like JimmyRicky's secret slush fund of taxpayer $100Ms)

"People didn't like the fact that it's now somewhat shrouded in secrecy with public money,"

He believes in the private sector and letting the private sector do as much as possible on things. He's made efforts to privatize as much as he can."

the claim that Kasich eliminated an $8 billion deficit and shored up the state's "rainy day" surplus fund. But in reality, he cut funding to local governments and school districts, forcing many to increase their own taxes and fees.

"By reducing their funding, now they are having to go to voters and ask for local levies to help make that up," said Jackie Borchardt of The Plain Dealer in Cleveland. "The local government or school district is having to raise more revenue that way. In his first budget, he did slash spending for education. He cut it and local governments have said they continue to chip away at their funding."

    http://mediamatters.org/blog/2015/07...-anti-u/204560

Kasich also expanded Medicaid under ACA, which should make tea baggers HATE him.

So Kasich is nothing but an another extreme right wing ideologue, out of step with the majority of the USA, and of course, STRONG of black voter suppression.

Ohio hit with federal lawsuit over GOP voting restrictions

    http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/ohio-hit-...g-restrictions

And like in 2004, we can expect election-throwing counting fraud by the OH Repug secretary of state

5 Things To Remember About John Kasich

    1. He’s got a symbiotic relationship with Fox News.

    2. He’s got a temper.

He might appear to be a pretty mild-mannered guy – more Scott Walker than Chris Christie. But his temper has pushed away donors before and even other politicians have sent out warnings about Kasich’s occasional outbursts.

His temper has been noted by reporters both local and national, from the ‘90s to the present day. “Abrasive” is a term that is commonly attributed to him

    3. He’s one of the few Republican governors to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act

    4. He’s a proponent of restricting collective bargaining rights.

    5. He was involved in Lehman Brothers directly before it filed for bankruptcy.

    http://www.nationalmemo.com/5-surpri...john-kasich/2/

So he's an investment banker, Warrior on Employees, pro-privatization at all costs, and extreme right wing ideologue.

John Kasich Halted A Program That Saved Consumers $230 Million

In 2014 he signed a bill freezing a successful clean energy program. Ohio’s renewable portfolio standard (RPS) had created 25,000 jobs and spurred at least $1 billion in private sector investment.

in less than six years, Ohio’s RPS saved consumers roughly $230 million and dropped electricity rates by almost a percent and a half. The efficiency measures that were also frozen had saved ratepayers $1 billion, according to utility company filings. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the policies were supported by 70 percent of Ohioans.

The reasoning behind the freeze — ostensibly billed as a chance to evaluate the costs and benefits of supporting renewable energy and efficiency — is unclear. But the Koch-funded American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) has been tied to anti-RPS efforts in Ohio as well as several other states.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, two-thirds of Ohio’s electricity came from coal in 2014. Natural gas accounted for 18 percent, and nuclear energy provided 12 percent. Coal

“The environment was given to us by the lord and it needs to be taken care of. It shouldn’t be worshiped, that is called pantheism."

    http://thinkprogress.org/climate/201...te+Progress%29

So Kasich blocks, kills renewable energy programs in order to protect dying coal, coal being killed by natural gas and reduced demand, not by the EPA.
