In a move that will surprise absolutely no one, ESPN.com’s Marc Stein reports that the Sixers are waiving veteran forward Gerald Wallace, whom they acquired from the Warriors this summer for Jason Thompson.
Wallace was in the final year of a contract that would pay him $10.1 million. The Sixers still owe him that money, meaning the two highest-paid players on their payroll are Wallace and JaVale McGee ($12 million), neither of whom are on their team.
It remains to be seen whether Wallace will get picked up by another team. He’s a good veteran presence in the locker room, but he hasn’t been a useful NBA rotation player in about four years.

Thought that wore #2 on our team
The guy is absolutely done & won't get PT over Kyle/Simmons as a wing player. The forward position is crowed & he can't shoot thus he isn't even an option for small ball PF or stretch 4. I was a fan of Gerald Wallace when he was w/ the Bobcats but his playing day are over, maybe some team (besides the Sixers/Celtics) might give him a roster spot to mentor young players ala Ron Artest.
He's got intangibles and hustle. Prime candidate for Pop's coffee runner.
Well, if he still has muscle controls in his legs, he's able to move faster than Fat Head. That alone would get him playing time behind Kiwi and Simmons.
I'd rather bring back James White tbh
no. unless its for vet min and replaces bonner.
What a world we live in where this guy gets paid 10.1 million freakin dollars to NOT play basketball. me
There is a fork in that guy that I don't want to pull out.
JaVale McGee got cut with 12.5M left on his deal.
Lets bring back Antonio Daniels with him too
No. Not even for the vet minimum,
