I've never been so sick after a sporting event than I was after that.
Worst loss as a Saints fan. Only other sickening loss was the Royals losing Game 7 last season to Bumgardener. The Hornets losing game 7 to the Spurs is a distant 3rd.

why not Matt Cassel over Weeden? Cassel led the Patriots with no Brady all year to a very respectable 11–5 season that would have been good enough for the playoffs any other year.
Cassell has looked ty elsewhere. With the Patriots you get the benefit of knowing what the defense is doing, where the open man is etc...other teams don't have that. I'd roll the dice with Weeden imo.
    also what Gemini Method said.

    1. Saints-49ers Loss. Brees has a chance to beat Brady in the Super Bowl and vault himself into the conversation of the top 5 all time with 2 rings, one over Manning and one over Brady. Instead, he's in the latter part of the top 10.
    2. LSU-Bama BCS Championship. Embarrassing in so many ways.
    3. Saints-Eagles 1992 Playoff Game. That 4th quarter was depressing. I really thought the Saints would make a run that year.
    4. Hornets-Spurs Game 7. It put the team in a downward spiral.

Brees a top 10 all time QB ?
He's in the top 5 of every major passing category and holds numerous passing records. You couldn't find more than 10 QB's that could touch his resume.

    Passing yards: 4th All Time - 56,643
    Passing Touchdowns: 4th All Time - 398
    Completion Percentage: 1st All Time
Career Wins: 9th All Time: 117

Résumé aside, let me name some names (in no particular order):

Joe Montana, John Elway, Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, Brett Favre, Otto Graham, Steve Young, Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers are all objectively better...there are others, too

I even give Dan Marino an honorable mention over Brees despite the lack of a ring...Brees really isn't close.

It is sad seeing the Saints in the mode but it'll happen to all our teams except the Patriots. They'll probably make a deal with Beezlebub and cheat the hands of time.
Patriots ride the wave of Brady. After that, it is tumultuous waters.

Ready for the game, but sad to see Brees not playing. He was a big part that made the Panthers/Saints one of the biggest, most hostile rivalries in the NFL.

perhaps, but we have drafted a good qb with all the necessary tools and the rest of the team has been undergoing a total rebuild for the last two years, so we actually have one of the youngest teams.. I don't know, it's not looking good for the patriots haters.. Kinda looks like the spurs rebuild.

i won't touch the prehistoric guys, but you can't put Rodgers ahead of Brees as of now tbh.. at least you can't say it's objective..

Yes you can, peak Aaron Rogers > peak Drew Brees.

What do Rex Grossman, Alex Smith and Matt Hasselbeck have in common? They've all beaten Drew Brees in a playoff game.

well rodgers has been beaten repeatedly by colored qbs.. that's really not objective.. imo Rodgers is bound to have a better career than Brees, but he may also get injured today and never play again for all we know. Brees has been consistently very good for very long, that's gotta count for something...

that's what you're going with? A magical 280 pass yards number?
