U.S. global abortion policy causing deaths,

A U.S. policy banning government-funded aid groups from discussing abortion around the world has led to deaths from botched procedures and cut care to HIV-infected orphans and other children,

Non-governmental organizations working outside the United States must choose between accepting the ban imposed by President Donald Trump two years ago or rejecting it and losing U.S. funding under what critics have termed a “global gag rule”.

“This deadly policy violates the rights of patients and ties the hands of providers,”

Christian militia brutally mocked after its video intended to scare ‘enemies of Christ’ massively backfires

A self-styled Christian “militia” that calls itself the Legion of St. Ambrose was buried in ridicule over the weekend after

it posted a video of its members dressed all in black in an effort

to intimidate so-called “enemies of Christ.”

In a tweet posted on June 9th, the Legion of St. Ambrose showed a video of its members carrying flags while dressed in ninja-like outfits.

“The cowardly, those who countersignal, do-nothings, traitors, the enemies of Christ, and the enemies of those who serve Him shall be dabbed on,” the group wrote

several social media users mocked the groups costumes and compared them to live-action role players — or

“LARPers” — who dress up and play games of Dungeons and Dragons out in the woods.

    The group’s manifesto
    calls for the

    abolition of “ sexuality,

    pedophilia,

    transgenderism, and

any other unnatural sexual orientatons/acts” and

also supports “a return to a patriarchal society,

where the home and nation is upheld by traditional sex roles.”

GOP Senators force Trump nominee to withdraw because he didn’t give Catholics extra rights to discriminate against gays

"Republican Senators who accused him of anti-religious bigotry and suggested he did not hate gay people enough."

Trump administration rule would undo health care protections for LGBTQ patients

The sweeping proposal has implications for all Americans, though, because the Department of Health and Human Services seeks to change how far civil rights protections extend and how those protections are enforced.

overturn an Obama-era rule that prohibited discrimination based

    on gender iden y and

    termination of a pregnancy.

latest Trump administration proposal to strip protections for transgender Americans, coming the same week another
    directive was proposed by the

Department of Housing and Urban Development that would allow homeless shelters to turn away people based on their gender iden y.

would eliminate those protections, enabling providers to deny these groups care or insurance coverage without having to pay a fine or suffer other federal consequences.

That may mean refusing a transgender patient mental health care or gender-confirming surgery.

    But it

may also mean denying patients care that has nothing to do with gender iden y

such as a regular office visit for a bad cold or ongoing treatment for chronic conditions like diabetes.

" it empowers bad actors to be bad actors,"

would also eliminate protections based on sexual orientation and gender iden y from several other health care regulations,

like non-discrimination guidelines for the health care insurance marketplaces.

It appears to weaken other protections, such as those based on race or age, by limiting who must abide by the rules.

It all goes back to a section in the Affordable Care Act barring discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability or sex.

"Organizations will have lower labor costs and lower litigation costs because they will no longer have to process grievances or defend against lawsuits brought by transgender people."

Happy Pride! Trump Got His Christian Taliban Nominee Who Hates Gay People, Birth Control, Non-Christians, Joy

Rightwing extremist Matthew Kacsmaryk is set to be confirmed to a lifetime appointment as a federal judge.

Kacsmaryk is a Trump nominee to the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The Northern District covers a large part of the state, including the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and is home to nearly eight million people.

Kacsmaryk's current job is deputy general counsel to

First Liberty Ins ute, an organization that promotes the belief that Christians in America are just constantly being persecuted.

His nomination is opposed by a myriad of civil rights and public health groups and basically every LGBTQ rights organization.

As noted by Texas Observer writer Michael Barajas,

Matthew Kacsmaryk [has] worked to erode the firewall between church and state as lawyer for the

First Liberty Ins ute, a Christian legal advocacy group that

protects pastors who mobilize their flock to overturn local non-discrimination ordinances,

county clerks who refuse to issue same-sex marriage licenses and

anti-abortion centers that trick women into thinking they're walking into actual medical clinics.

Mateer's nomination failed after a 2015 speech surfaced in which he called transgender kids "Satan's spawn" and part of "Satan's plan."

Kacsmaryk's and Mateer's nominations "a clear signal that President Trump intends to make our federal courts the place where civil rights go to die."

    Kacsmaryk's greatest hits:

.... wow! Muslim extremists got nothing on this hate-driven Christian Taliban

Did Anti-Choice Groups Help Craft Trump’s Fetal Tissue Research Policy? Democrats Want an Answer.

wants the Trump administration to explain how it crafted new restrictions on fetal tissue research and what influence anti-choice groups had on the policy.

Democrats, questions the administration’s recently announced
prohibition on government scientists from doing fetal tissue research.

    “Our message is simple:

fetal tissue and cells that would otherwise be discarded play a vital role in modern, cutting-edge medical research,”

Scientists, researchers, and advocacy groups have
condemned the administration’s policy banning scientists at the National Ins utes of Health (NIH) from conducting research using donated fetal tissue, noting

the critical role the research plays in scientific development.

listening sessions” HHS held in November 2018 about fetal tissue research that

included anti-choice groups, demanding to know which groups attended and what occurred during the sessions.

it is “very clear that anti-abortion groups have a huge influence in the administration writ large, but especially at HHS.”

    Equity Forward
has identified roughly 50 “anti-abortion appointees who are affecting policy at various levels throughout” the agency,

Mike Pompeo’s Faith-Based Attempt to Narrowly Redefine Human Rights

Pompeo proposed a revision of the concept of human rights,

    to distinguish between

    original unalienable rights and

“ad hoc rights” that have been added since the end of the Cold War.

Now the U.S. appears poised to put its three-hundred-pound thumb on the scale in favor of narrowly redefining the concept of human rights.

“What does it mean to say or claim that something is, in fact, a human right?” he asked.

“How do we know or how do we determine whether that claim that this or that is a human right, is it true, and therefore, ought it to be honored?

How can there be human rights, rights we possess not as privileges we are granted or even earn but simply by virtue of our humanity, belong to us?

Is it, in fact, true, as our Declaration of Independence asserts, that as human beings, we—all of us, every member of our human family—are endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights?”

The answers that the commission may propose appear preordained by its makeup. (eg, headed by a Catholic)

fears the State Department is about

to create a hierarchy of human rights and

will place religious freedom at the top of the pyramid.

the agency is promoting the concept of religious freedom.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights contains thirty articles

(of which only one, Article 18, guarantees freedom of religion), including

    “the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law” (Article 6);

    the right to legal protection without discrimination (Article 7);

    the right to privacy (Article 12);

the right to participation in the community, “in which alone the free and full development of his personality is possible” (Article 29).

In effect, the new commission will contemplate who is and isn’t human, and

    who, therefore, possesses inalienable rights.

Most of the commissioners appear to believe that embryos are human.

Many of them also appear to subscribe to the Trump Administration’s general
position that trans people do not exist.

A troubling word in Pompeo’s speech was

“citizen.” Did the Secretary of State mean that only the rights of citizens are inalienable?

If the United States asks the international community to redefine human rights as religious rights,

it will have the support of a vast coalition of very different countries—

a coalition of which Russia has, for a decade, been the informal leader.

Republicans Get Another Win in Their Fight to Gut le X

A ruling from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals paves the way for the administration to begin enforcing catastrophic changes to the federal family planning program.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday ruled the Trump administration’s domestic “gag rule,”

which bans federal family planning dollars from going to health-care providers who perform abortions or refer patients for abortion services,

can take effect everywhere but the state of Maryland.

The ruling jeopardizes comprehensive reproductive health-care access for nearly 4 million people.

“This is devastating news for the millions of people who rely on le X for
    cancer screenings,
    HIV tests,
    affordable birth control, and
other critical primary and preventive care,”

“While we are incredibly concerned the panel did not recognize the harm of the Trump-Pence administration’s gag rule,

we will not stop fighting for the millions across the country in need for care.

Planned Parenthood will keep fighting to block this dangerous rule that

allows the government to censor our doctors and nurses from doing their jobs.”

An Anti-Choice Group Misspent $50,000 on Religious Material. North Carolina Wants to Give It $400,000 More.

Amid a budget showdown, legislators have allocated a record amount of at least $2.64 million in state funds to anti-choice crisis pregnancy centers in North Carolina.

Last year, Rewire.News revealed that anti-choice pregnancy centers in North Carolina illegally bought religious propaganda with federal funds.

State regulators vowed in response to strengthen oversight and moved to recoup the misused money.

the anti-choice Carolina Pregnancy Care Fellowship (CPCF) had
misspent public money—to the tune of $50,000—on sectarian content in violation of federal law,

the agency continued to allow the use of federal funds for some religious materials

Wow you got the bolded correct imo opinion and then messed it up with the underlined imo.
So know you know the possible reason Catholics and Jews are highly represented: Strong classical education which stresses writing, classical reading, and debate. Jews because their culture is of books and thinking.

And just like the Protestants, you have Catholics that are breaking much more in favor of the blue team with the exception of abortion in most cases. Nah, I would say more blue team for Catholics given the current Pope.
