Yanks have a shot with the ice cold Royals and the fading Astros. Hopefully Texas knocks out Toronto.

Royals are AL champs until proven otherwise . They beat the Jays in 6 games.

Have the Cards in the NL since only the Giants can beat them in the playoffs. They beat the Dodgers.

Royals beat the Cards again just like in 1985 thanks to another blown call and Cards meltdown.

Royals finished the season with 5 straight wins to capture homefield. They were resting guys throughout the month since they had a 13 game lead. They stopped coasting and took care of business when it counted. They're the AL champs until proven otherwise.

    I've got:

Astros over Yankees, then Royals over Astros in 5
    Rangers over BJs in 4

Cubs over Pirates, then Cards over Cubs in 4
    Dodgers over Mets in 4

Gonna wait for ALCS/NLCS predictions until I see how each team looks.

Not really sure what the the Jays were thinking in the past week, but then again Gibbons is a moron. Gave away the best record in the AL, fielded their second team on two occasions, didn't pitch Price at all...and started a pitcher on one day rest? Baffling. Won't be surprised if this bites them in the ass.

I think he was saving Price for Game 1 of the ALDS. But I'm surprised the Jays really let homefield get away after they overtook the Royals this past week. But I'll think they'll be fine in the ALDS. The Royals needed homefield more than the Jays.

Yeah, but IMO Price doesn't need 11 days of rest. And yes benching your starters for two consecutive games against the Orioles was asinine. The Jays were 53-28 at home and 40-41 on the road....so they're not much better (if not worse) than the Royals.

Shoot I didn't realize Price is getting 11 days of rest. Hopefully he's not rusty. The Rangers have a good offense.

I remember the Royals benching their starters for one game when they clinched the division. I think the doubleheader hurt the Jays in that sense when they clinched.

I guess it's one of those things that happens, but it's unfortunate that 2 of the 3 best records in baseball (STL/PIT/CUBS) will be eliminated by the time the NLCS starts.

Man this one game series makes it extremely sketch.

Don't understand how people don't like playoff baseball. Where every single pitch matters and one bad pitch can do you in. The most unpredictable sport.

Game 2 might decide this series. I think the Royals will win Game 1 with Ventura starting and the Astros will win Game 3 with Keuchel. Key will be Game 2. Cueto has been up and down for the Royals. Hopefully he steps up in Game 2 and pitched the way the Royals expected him to when they traded for him.

congrats to the Astros on their first playoff win since 2005. The Astros hit 230 home runs this year , 2nd only to the Blue Jays. it will be a hard road to get thru K.C. but the young guys on this team wont quit. Congrats to Reed and Nolan Ryan to help bring in the best talent to what was a sad sack team. First 2 games in K.C...................
