Lamar Odom:
>Lost his mother to colon cancer at the age of 12
>Father's a recovering Heroin addict
>Lost his 6 month old child to SIDS in 2006
>Has been battling depression, the odds & probably drug addiction for most of his life.
To blame his current situation on a "Kardashian curse" is not only ignorant & insensitive but it also shows how Americans continue to ignore depression & PTSD within our community.
Why be a decent human being when you can act like an internet tough guy and shoot for some cheap laughs on a message board?
I don"t understand how some of these guys can be so unprepared for life after basketball. It is like they are blind to the fact that almost all players are done by the time they hit age 35. He basically got traded from the Lakers and went into a complete depression, that he never recovered from.
Ya she loves him so much she was all up in Harden's beard
Lamar Odom overdosed on drugs, E! News has learned.
A source inside Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas tells us that "drugs were found in his system," and doctors are treating the situation as an "overdose." Lamar remains unconscious and on a ventilator but is still alive. It also appears that the former Los Angeles Lakers player suffered from a "loss of oxygen but also possible stroke."
"So, likely there's brain damage, but they're not sure how much," the source adds. "Virtually every drug imaginable was found in his system."
Lamar appears to have suffered an "ischemic stroke," which is caused by a blood clot preventing blood flow to the brain. This type of stroke is often associated with a cocaine overdose, among other drugs. Our source adds that Lamar "had been partying since Friday."
"He was doing crack cocaine all weekend and he choked on his mucous," the insider explains. "They're now having to fix all the damage it has done."
Although doctors are treating Lamar's situation as an overdose, it doesn't appear to be a suicide attempt. More likely, the insider explains, it was an accidental overdose. "The long term effects of his drug use have taken a toll on his body and the binge this time was too much to handle," the source says.
Lamar suffered brain damage but isn't brain dead.
Khloé Kardashian's ex-husband was discovered unconscious at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bunny Love Ranch and rushed to a local hospital before being transferred. Kris Jennerwas spotted outside of Sunrise Hospital early this morning, where Khloé remains inside with Lamar. Another source told us that Khloé has been "completely inconsolable and heartbroken" since the news broke, adding that she had been "worried about Lamar for a very long time" despite cutting off contact with him over the summer.
His former teammates have turned to social media to show their support and Kendall Jenner has also tweeted for Lamar, writing, "Please don't go."
Mychal Thompson, former Laker, father of NBA star Klay Thompson and current Lakers broadcaster, also told E! News exclusively that the team is keeping Lamar in their thoughts at all times. "We are all currently praying for Lamar and wish him the best," he said.

He was a follower not a leader... even when he played he was always one weed test away from a lifetime NBA ban...when he left the Clippers he had one more strike before Stern banned him so hes always had issues....Marrying a high profile in LA and the bright lights of the city was his life when he lost that he couldn't cope..going to Dallas was like a a sentence on Death Row compared to his life at the time.....
He was a good dude with a good heart and to be honest Kobe brought the best out of Lamar...he made Lamar who he was..Mitch and company ed off that Lamar situation....
But man LO was blessed with talent we could only dream off...6-10 dribbling like a guard bringing the ball up and still playing defense from positions 1-4 and sometimes 5...not many players in NBA history can say that....what a waste..I'm glad to see though Kobe sticking by his side to the very end...Kobe was a true and good friend to Lamar....
What did I tell people. Kool is such a horrible person with a truly bad heart that his karma is destroying the Lakers. First it was Mitch's family (which I called before it happened) then he kept going. Creating injury threads while DRuss busts his butt then another Laker family member goes out.
It's all on Kool.
Then look at the team itself. Kool continue to usher in the darkest laker days.
You might be right. And he was obviously a part of some very special things with the Lakers, winning two championships. I know he had some depression and drug issues but I just feel like this is a story we have heard before. Athletes that cannot deal with life past their great athletic achievement. It is like you want to start shaking this guy and tell him at age 35 you may be too old to be a superstar in the NBA but you're still young in the game of life. Get it together and find some happiness.
While I don't really feel bad or care, some of the comments in this thread are pretty stupid, tbh..this doesn't have anything to do with not being prepared "after basketball", and being a millionaire doesn't automatically make you normal or happy(and in the case of a fiend, it obviously makes it worse)..
