No power forwards, lose 2 of you're small ball pfs in Tatum and Kuzma, No scoring presence at the 5 except Brook Lopez, shaky 3 pt shooting, and a relatively young/inexperienced team. The World was pumped because they knew they had a chance this year vs the U.S. Sad to see such an early exit but this shouldn't be that surprising in this type of tournament.
too many posters on here still hold on to this inane belief that as long as your an american born player, you're better than any other player on the court. the fact is that team USA was a hodgepodge of tier 2 players, including walker and mitc , and too many tier 3 players such as white. add in the injuries and lack of playing time together as a unit, and the USA was bound to get eliminated. at this level, with all of the all-star players sitting this summer, it's just which team is playing the best basketball. that explains the success of argentina.

Sad day on Patriot Day, but perhaps with what this team had against more experienced (FIBA/NBA) talent, & their cir stance as a young, FIBA inexperienced group with little time to build chemistry & not have the needed 3 point firepower to compete, would eventually catch up to them. In other news, looks like the BIG MAN still thrives in FIBA! With Gobert & Bogut's play in each of their games today, as they dominated, may be one of Team USA's weaknesses that may need to be addressed going forward. Looks like Team USA played a lot of small ball in today's game, but it didn't seem to match up well against Team France. Well,it's on to play Serbia now on Thursday am at 0600, CTZ, & that will be a tough team to beat as well. Team USA has a target on their backs & everyone is out to get them. Also, knowing the lack of talent Team USA normally has, these teams feel that they have a chance to beat them if they play with heart & pride for their respected countries. Whatever it's worth...
