Simmons and Kyle > Manu, Green, Paddy
Simmons/Kyle future bench core, might be able to start on some teams TBH.
and ppl want to trade him for peanuts.
Simmons and Kyle > Manu, Green, Paddy
Thank God that ugly of a game is over.![]()
It's not just his rim protection but rather the rotations/communication which is something Tim has been doing for the past 19 years as well as anyone that has played the game. On the other end, there hasn't been any high-low action involving LMA without Tim on the floor.
Two bright spots on an otherwise abysmal night.
I think people just don't know what to look for anymore.
Patty, Tony and Manu were terrible. Tony made shots but he missed many opportunities for others. Patty doesn't bring anything unless he's making shots, and Manu well, he sucked this game.
Well this upsets me because this makes the Cavaliers look better than the SPurs and a great team when they're not. SMH.
I think it's because of his lack of talent.
agree here. Cavs were finding their spot up shooters. Spurs rarely had that kind of opportunity.
Maybe even more important than the rim protection, IMHO.
That's what we look like right now.
Not having Tim is not a legitimate excuse.
Kawhi and Aldridge did not take on the challenge in either of the past 2 games against last year's finalists. That's a HUGE, GLARING problem.
I dnt mind losing, it's getn n embarrassed that bothers the outta me!
Lol, so what, if we dont make the Finals they will get smacked in 5 by the Warriors. If we make the Finals, they will get exposed by us too. All it gives them is false confidence that will prevent them from making a trade that could actually push them to contender status.
age catching up to Tony and Manu. Patty is too small and Cavs exploited that. Been saying this the entire season, you can't have these two point guards play without being exposed!
Van Gundy is spot on with the lack of foot speed.
I agree. They came out balling. Kyle to me, really grew this game. Simmons had been balling already since a few games back and had grown before our eyes, now he's just building his confidence. The two of them play really well together.
When they sat the other team made a run. They don't look rattled anymore and I do hope Pop doesn't archive this performance under "to be used next season"
The problem is the defense has been slipping for over a month now, and Tim had been healthy for most of it. Even Kawhi's defense has been mediocre. Not sure what the issue is but if this is the team showing it's true colors on D, they're out in the second round.
Your entire defense was from start to finish. No one person cost you the game. Your entire team sucked as a defensive unit.
I know the narrative that Pop wanted to experiment with a zone against a hot shooting contender will remain but holy was the zone broken down at pivotal moments where the lead grew. Running a zone works (to an effective degree) against athletes the likes of which you'll find at the middle school, high school and even college. Against an NBA team you are asking to get burnt if you keep it for a long period of time.
Some deeper meaning there.
+1 million
What does last year have to do with this year?
This year's Spurs team is being built for the slow pace grind it out style of the POs. Don't let the inflated record fool you... with different players and style the Spurs have yet to peak as a team. If they're still getting blown out in late March, then ya we suck.
