Way to Baylor! Look for this to be a TCU/Texas battle, from what I'm hearing. From a talent standpoint this would be a no brainer for Texas. He would easily be the best WR in the 2017 class, in the state of Texas.
Bobby Burton still taking it to Baylor, rightfully so:
The father of Copperas Cove OL JP Urquidez says he was told during a sit-down meeting with Craig Jackson of Baylor that no recruit would be given a release until/unless the player "met with" new Bear coach Jim Grobe. Urquidez offered to meet with Grobe immediately but was told Grobe was unavailable.
Well, Grobe met yesterday with Parrish Cobb, a blue chip cornerback from Waco La Vega who wants out of his LOI.
According to someone with knowledge of the meeting, it was intimated to Cobb's father by Grobe that Grobe did not have the authority to give Parrish Cobb a release, that Cobb would have to file an appeal.
So many questions arise from the Baylor head coach being unable to grant a release or not saying a recruit could receive one.
If not Grobe, then who has the authority to grant a release?
If it's not Grobe, then who really is running the Baylor football program?
It's all just absurd.
A college loses its head coach, its athletic director and its president over a cover-up of repeated sexual assaults yet they are attempting to keep recruits to the letter of a law that they themselves couldn't follow.
Furthermore, Baylor has already self-reported what they believe to be NCAA infractions to the NCAA and charged infractions are, according to the LOI itself, one of the ways a recruit can nullify his LOI in the first place.
Add all of this together and Baylor is dragging its feet again. They're unwilling to accept that the consequences of their actions could truly impact their blessed football program. The athletic department and school just smells of a complete and utter mess.
I don't know who is steering the Baylor ship, but it's way off course. Yet again.
Scout reporting former Baylor commitment, WR Hezekiah Jones of Stafford, plans to visit UT this summer.

I'm reading several sites and it does look like the saga is finally coming to an end. We are officially on commitment watch.
24/7 reporting Texas is the "overwhelming favorite" to land OL Patrick Hudson assuming he's released from his LOI.
Per OrangeBloods, UT is "the top choice by a wide margin" for RB Kameron Martin if he's released from his LOI.
The coaches' level of interest in Martin is still unknown.
Hugeness.
Starr is a liar:
Hays: “What about the victim that came forward saying that she had personally sent you an email and Art Briles an email saying in the subject line that she was raped at Baylor. Did you ever see that email?”
Starr: “I honestly may have. I’m not denying that I saw it.”
So he is sent so many emails about rape he can't remember if he saw this one?
Starr: “All I’m going to say is I honestly have no recollection of that.”
Oh. He did not read the rape emails as they seemed unimportant?
Starr: “I honestly have no recollection of seeing such an email and I believe that I would remember seeing such an email. The president of a university gets lots of emails. I don’t even see a lot of the emails that come into the office of the president. I have no recollection. None.”
Oh. His secretary probably screened them so no he did not see it or read it as it merely pertained to rape? This man is a Fckn lawyer... ?
Here's a different link if the other doesn't work:
Jesus...just tell the ing truth. There's no amount finagling that will get you to look even the least bit innocent.
Bobby Burton (24/7) going all in on what happened at Baylor in regards to Duvernay's letter of intent:
I am told by a reputable source that Baylor assistants committed an NCAA infraction when recruiting Devin Duvernay by evaluating him too many times in the spring of 2015 (evaluating Duvernay three times instead of the NCAA allowed upon two times). Only Devin Duvernay, not his twin brother Donovan who also signed with the Bears, was affected because one of the evaluations came at a track meet that Devin participated in but Donovan did not.
I've sent a set of questions outlining these and other issues to Nick Joos of Baylor's media relations department via email and left two voicemails. I've received no return call or email at this time.
I've been in this business for more than 20 years. Never have I ever seen a school fail to submit an LOI/NLI for a blue chip player that sent one to the school. Maybe it's happened somehow, somewhere.
So was it really a clerical error or "mix up" at all?
By not following through and submitting Devin Duvernay's letter of intent, Baylor likely subverted possible NCAA penalties stemming from Duvernay's recruitment. A call to the NLI office about this matter was also not returned.
For their part, the Duvernay family was completely unaware that Baylor did not submit Devin's NLI.
If Baylor and/or the NLI respond, I will add to this post giving them the opportunity to respond.
Big 12 votes to have a football conference championship game starting in 2017.
But but but every game matters?
