Football Brainiacs:
Have been gathering a little behind the scenes information on how the summer is going for the team. Here are a few notable notes…
Guys Standing Out: The usual suspects are Collin Johnson and John Burt. As you would expect those two look great.
A young guy who was mentioned to me is Lil Jordan Humphrey, “for a big guy he can really sink his hips and get out of his break”.
Source said, “Armanti (Foreman) is putting in work…he looks better and you can tell there is a renewed sense of motivation”. I assume this sense of renewed motivation has a lot to do with the new offense and the rise of Shane Buechele.
“Davion Curtis has speed that everyone has to respect…it opens up a lot of routes for him…comebacks and whatnot”
I was told the freshmen defensive linemen are not acting like freshmen. In workouts they are competing with the older guys…they’re jumping to the front of the line. “Guys like ****** are not here to sit the bench their freshmen year…its pretty clear they are here to play.”
Buechele is the best QB. Was told Swoopes is probably third after Heard in terms of how he performs in 7 on 7. Was also told Swoopes is still holding on to the ball…”even in 1 on 1s he holds on to the ball”. Source also added, “In 7 on 7 a wide receiver will be open but he (Swoopes) just keeps patting the ball until the DB catches up to the receiver”.
I was told that Buechele knows he can win the spot. He’s taken a leadership role especially among the freshmen. Source said,”He’s vocal…you can tell he can taste it and he wants it. Sterlin takes the most interest in him but you can also tell Sterlin is going to keep holding that carrot out in front of him to make sure he continues to compete.”
Was also told that the upperclassmen have embraced the freshmen. There is strong team chemistry in general. You typically think of upperclassmen being a little stand offish with regards to freshmen because of the threat that they may take their spot. But I’m told that isn’t the case. Probably the best quote I got from a source, “They (the freshmen and upperclassmen) all want to win and they know they have to do it together.”

SIAP: Big 12 will take action against Baylor today- AAS
http://collegesports.blog.statesman....gainst-baylor/
According to Oklahoma president David Boren, the Big 12 will take action against Baylor in the wake of a sexual assault scandal that’s rocked the campus while making national news.
Boren said the Baylor situation was discussed on a recent teleconference and that the league will make an announcement about its plans, Wednesday.
I thought he was staying put at Baylor? We just might get errybody!
It's possible he was waiting to see what Duvernay did.
But even if Hudson is 100% set on attending Texas, all of the LOI bull has to be resolved first.
It'd be nice if the Big XII called for Baylor to give releases.
Big XII requests ALL information from Baylor.
Public, private, unedited, written, verbal, everything.

I responded to your message about posting tweets.
If you don't understand the directions, let us know.
Shouldn't we be posting back in the 2016 thread? Lol just kidding
Very unique situation, for sure.
Duvernay represents a turning point for Texas (Barton Simmons)
The balance of power in the Big 12 and in the state of Texas is shifting right in front of us. I've said in the past that Baylor's decline would prop up Texas but now we have tangible proof.

A little tidbit from Higdon:
The guys that could end up in the Texas class are Hudson, Martin and JP --those are the guys in my mind...Cobb is going to OU imo as of today--assuming they are released..
Inside Texas says they're hearing rumors that Baylor will give releases by the weekend.
Chip apparently said something similar on the radio this morning.
OrangeBloods hearing this talk too, but obviously it's unconfirmed.
