Per Scout, CB Parrish Cobb is on campus tonight.
Per Scout, CB Parrish Cobb is on campus tonight.
If it's Martin or Cobb due to numbers, I'd like Cobb.
Scout reporting CB Parrish Cobb will meet with Strong tomorrow morning.
From yesterday evening, but Briles officially gone.
EJ Holland @EJHolland247
Ex-Baylor RB signee Kameron Martin (@TeamKamMartin) has informed me that Texas is no longer an option. Auburn and TCU are his finalists.
Kam appears to be the odd man out.
From Higdon
Southall is going to be good to go and make it from what I am told tonight. They also feel very strongly about Fowlers chances of making it in. To hit on this class 100% as far as getting everyone in will be outstanding...
Latest predictions from Inside Texas...
Cobb in, Hudson in and Martin out.
I've been curious if Parrish Cobb is a DB wouldn't we have more value in Kam Martin being that we have a need for more offensive production? Aren't we loaded at DB? Also some are reporting that Cobb's father didn't make the trip to Texas this morning so it could be a bad sign as he favors OU. If we miss on Cobb does Texas then pursue Martin since it will free another spot? A lot of questions covering the same topic...
we are not loaded at the CB position. Actually, all three of the DBs that we recruited in the 2016 class are projected to be Safeties. We are more stacked at RB than tge CB position.
Also, apparently Cobb's dad not being there is positive. Also, IT saying that Hudson may be visiting today.
Eric Nahlin has alerted us, "Adjust your boners, guys and gals."
JP came in early and took a spot that was probably not reserved for him. The combination of uncertainty in Hudson and Cobb probably forced the staff to take him. Granted they wanted him, but believe Kam had his spot, but being the early bird, he got the worm. Brilliantly executed by him in my opinion. It's a fluid situation and anything could happen, but 24 hours ago, taking JP was the smart choice. He's a solid player and a bird in the hand... Kam is more of a luxury than a necessity. CB is a spot that needs to be addressed and Cobb was probably the best CB avaliable last year.
Wells-Sunday morning update:
Cobb is on campus. His dad is not, which probably benefits Texas.
Hudson could be soon, like we've posted for two days.
As soon as more happens, we'll update.
Gerry Hamilton now saying that Texas won't be getting Cobb. Hasn't met the coaches.
OrangeBloods saying OL Xavier Newman of DeSoto did NOT visit OU this weekend.
24/7 said he came in town to see CB Eric Cuffee and celebrate his birthday.
The UT coaches knew he arrived on campus and were expecting him this morning, but he didn't show up.
Worth mentioning his father wants him at Oklahoma and his father didn't make the trip to Austin.
Time to make the call to Kam Martin.

Nah, just get Patrick Hudson and call it a top 5 class.
I'd be happy with grabbing Hudson and calling it a day. Saves more room for 2017 class just a bit of uncertainty across the board with these guys.
At this point I'm starting to wonder if we get anyone else.
From Football Brainiacs:
– UPDATE (Sun., 1:53 pm): I have spoken to a few people regarding the Parrish Cobb situation. This is what I have been told. Cobb was scheduled to meet with Texas HC, Charlie Strong yesterday. Cobb was hours late. In the evening Strong let Parrish know that he would be able to meet with him in the morning. Cobb did not meet with Strong.
Why? I can’t answer that definitively. However, I have been told that Parrish favors Texas but Parrish’s father favors OU. This was a theme towards the end of his recruitment back in January and February. Cobb ended up at Baylor, I’m told, as a sort of compromise. Additionally, his mother preferred Baylor.
One source joked saying, maybe this time TCU will end up winning by default. I have been told that the Cobb’s would like to make a decision very soon, ideally this evening, but based on how this thing has played out so far, there is no way I would stand by any timeline.
Cobb has ties at both OU and Texas. At OU there is a support staff member who Parrish has known for quite some time. Also he is close to OU players Dede Westbrook and Kahlil Haughton. Cobb’s older sister graduated from Texas and his family member, Eric Cuffee is a freshmen DB at Texas. –
At this point it would be gravy. As of the now, the already strong 2016 is stronger than it was this time last week. Got an instant game changer at a skill position, got oline depth, and an athlete to mold.
