Because it just feels like a cheap fill in money grabbing movie with Star Wars as a tag name to pull in the people until episode 8 drops.
Besides, the cast seems pretty lame. Yen is always awesome though.
Also you wont be able to get invested in these new characters knowing they're nowhere to be found in the later films. Useless characters without any substance or significance when it comes to the whole Star Wars universe. You know its sad when you're only hyped for the Grand Admiral. LOL

yes, a story right before ep 4.
In short, the numerical episodes (1-9) are a continuous story that primarily deal with the Skywalkers. These new movies labelled "A Star Wars Story" are basically self-contained, one-and-done films that can take place during any time about any character. They'll be released during the off years between the episodic films.

Looks generic as . Once again a SW plot centered around stopping a giant super weapon. The protagonist looks bland (actually, every character did), and the Asian guy was laughable but the writers knew the ing beta fanboy types that like that Asian/Samurai stuff would eat that up
