instead.

But They better not be gambling

Sorry Pete- this is just F'n sheeety
It's a minor waste of time.
John McCain hit it out of the park!!!
The reasons the Senate is spending time with this issue are:
1. It is the politically expediate and trendy thing to do;
2. Baseball is unique in that it was grandfathered into the anti-trust laws and given special considerations, and since Congress controlls interstate commerce, they are more beholden to the Congress than other interstate business conglomerates are; and
3. McCain and a few others actually do give a about baseball and don't want to see them destroy the league.
It all went downhill after the AL introduced the designated hitter.
I agree.
Jose Canseco was being interviewed on NPR two days ago to talk about gene doping (apparantly the next wave in sports cheating). That guy is...uh...interesting.
He is basically pro every type of drug/doping/enhancement. He believes in some sort of government plot to keep people from becoming superhuman (thus the Senate hearings and government interference in baseball). And this is somehow related to a secret government program that is using gene doping (and other futuristic sounding stuff) to create a "Superhuman Army"...which is being formed and trained as we speak.
Great! Now, in addition to black helicopters, Nbadan has these goons to worry about.
