Kawhi is a blue-collar version of Pippen.
Can't remember if I called a guy idiot on ST, I guess not. But this guy deserves some idiot, stupid asshole, dumbass, fool, moron, dip ...and more.

Like when he said that Kawhi and Khris Middleton are basically the same player...

Jordan wasn't half the 3-point-shooter Kawhi is.

No one is saying he's Jordan, the best player EVER, but it's pretty obvious that he isn't a blue collar version of Pippen.

Yeah I don't like the Pippen comparison. Kawhi isnt the playmaker Pippen was, and is a better scorer. But I don't like the Jordan comparison. Jordan was a relentless slasher and was much craftier in the post with pump fakes and foot work. And like you said he was never the three point shooter Kawhi was. The only comparison to Jordan is that they have similar post fade aways.

Jordan was a pretty good defender too. I think he lead the league in steals one time?

Kawhi has his defensive skills and post/fadeway shooting skills. Doesn't have Jordans driving skills, but is a better 3-point shooter. I would compare Kawhi more to Jordan than Pippen, but neither is accurate, imho.

Kawhi is really only comparable to...Kawhi. He's pretty unique.

He really closed out that game.

    Manu-Ginobili-Leonard-Diaw-Aldridge looks really promising.

let's hope Pop was hiding it to counter GSW Death lineup..

He's definitely unique... For me these days, the Jordan comparison isn't so much in style, but just in terms of greatness, and impact on both ends. The post fadeaway and the midrange pullup for sure are similar tho, I love that.

He's kind of becoming the defensive version of Jordan imo, in terms of greatness. Super-elite on both ends, but out of this world, GOAT status at one end. Jordan was elite on defense, but his highest level talents were on offense. Kawhi is elite on offense, but his highest level talents are on defense (for now)... He's gonna go down as the best wing defender ever as long as he has a healthy career.

What's crazy is that he hasn't even entered his true prime yet, much less hit his peak. We still can't even see the peak through the clouds cause it's so high.

He's like some superfreak combo of Jordan and Pippen, with Steve Kerr's shooting efficiency somehow starting to mix itself in.

    Jorn had 2 different careers

    1984-93: Slasher
    1995-98: Jump shooter/postup player

Again, Kawhi at this point of his career is similar to Carmelo when you look at his offensive arsenal.

Rather than Jordan, I would say he's more on the level of Gary Payton who had a legit postup/fadeaway along w/ being a DPOY. Payton was a big point guard who could check Jordan but Jordan couldn't check Magic/Domnique/Bird b/c of their size.

Kawhi/Pippen are the top 2 wing defenders in league history. When you consider everything Pippen is the closest thing to Kawhi, although if Iggy had an alpha mentality he would have been the modern day Pippen.

    LMA/Kawhi are essentially '96 Kemp/Payton or a rich-man's '94 Grant/Pippen.

I thought the same. Pop also played Manu 27 minutes, which he hadn't done in months since early season and I think Pop would rather keep Manu's minutes shorter if he can.

That had to do w/ K-Mart being out (that's why Simmons got minutes before garbage time). I bet Andre will be active for Gm 4.

Glad Andre Miller was out. Otherwise Pop would have used him over Manu in that lineup after he saw his other 2 PGs being terrible.

I agree. That's likely the best lineup. Leonard, Green and Aldridge are so much better if they can get the pass at the right spots.

Parker is only useful if he's a scoring threat.
