    First in.

This is the guy -- Spurs need to try everything to get him.

I like his ball handling skills and scoring mentality but what concerns me is his lack of size on defense. He would get bullied by bigger guards and although he has the tools physically to be a good defender, he doesn't show it consistently. I also don't like that he doesn't have a pull up jumper he can resort to when on the break. He is going to force himself into a lot of blocked shots and turnovers. That is not going to make Pop happy.

His ability to get to the paint, and craftiness to finish around the basket when he isn't forcing things is pretty damn good for his age. He has the tools to be a good defender, but looked super lazy on some of those defensive plays. Should of stayed in school for another year, or two until he's ready. If Spurs pick him I won't be upset, it would be nice to have an off guard since Neal/2014 Manu that can at least get in the paint at some point in the near future. I like Bembry all around better, and is more ready even if he's a little older. A team that doesn't have to give him much guaranteed money at all early in the 2nd round might benefit the team taking him then.

He might get picked higher than our spot. He's a risky high upside pick but young enough to expect improvements. We need a slasher/ball handler and this guy has that game.

He would be a project but has an aggressive scoring mentality and depending on what the Spurs prioritize in FA, and what they want from the draft he's a guy you can't pass up on if he falls to you. I am reminded how poor Anderson looked defensively in college at times. You just give the youngster a chance. If he doesn't improve he's gone, but if he improves you have yourself a nice player.

2016 NBA Mock Draft: 2 Rounds
Chris Ransom Last Updated: May 18, 2016

    29. San Antonio Spurs

Most of the players are reaches at this point. Dejounte Murray has the versatility to play both point guard and shooting guard. Murray weights 6-5 170 lbs though and would go to San Antonio as a point guard to succeed Tony Parker here.

Dejounte Murray had 16.1 points per game, 6 rebounds per game, and 4.4 assists per game. Murray also posts a .412 field goal percentage, a .298 three point percentage, and a .658 free throw percentage.

SBNation Brew Hoop: Post-NBA lottery mock drafts show Ben Simmons edging Brandon Ingram
By Frank Madden  @brewhoop on May 18, 2016, 2:16p by Frank Maddon

    Has a chart:

All told, 43 different players were mocked as first rounders by at least one of those sites, with Ben Simmons edging out Brandon Ingram (*barely*) by a mark of 5-4 to capture the consensus top spot. Note that because only DraftExpress currently has a full 60-player mock, players left out of a 30-pick mock were simply assigned a draft spot of 45 for averaging purposes (that's also why the median value for each of the final 10 guys is 45).
Dejounte Murray is the 29th "consensus" pick.

NBA.com: Mock Draft 1.0: Sixers could boost offense with Ingram
Lakers would be happy to keep LSU's Simmons in purple and gold

    29. San Antonio Spurs

    Dejounte Murray | Washington | PG-SG | 6-5 |170

He excels in transition, whether pushing the ball himself or running the wing and staying in attack mode. That is comes through at 170 pounds is especially appealing to front offices that expect him to fill out and get stronger. Poor shooting is the problem. Murray made just 41.6 percent of his attempts overall and 28.8 percent of his 3s.

I'm liking this kid. He's got a unique skill set that not many have in this years draft though so I think he will go higher than 29. He's only 170 pounds but will fill out. I think his type of style fits nicely next to Kawhi. Leaning toward this guy.

Questionable shot selection was at fault for his inefficiency. He still has a lot to work on, but is a worthy project as he's so young and definitely has crazy ball handling and aggressiveness. I don't think the Spurs swing for him though.

This kid is raw. I think the spurs are still in win now mode even if Duncan and Manu Retire. We need immediate contributors. I like Kay Felder as a better value pick at the PG position in the second round.

USA Today: Ben Simmons still holding at top of mock draft
Derek Bodner, Special for USA TODAY Sports 11:56 a.m. EDT June 20, 2016

    29.
Murray continues to rise up draft boards because of his excellent combination of size and athleticism. He’s still figuring out how to play the game, but he could be a decent long-term gamble.

His video looks right. I'm good with him at #29, unless we're moving up as well for a more elite talent.
