i watched this got loaf all around LSU, he literally can't shoot beyond 5 feet, this is a bust waiting to happen

Simmons obviously has a lot of upside, but man, if LA gets another guy that needs serious work on his shot to pair with other non-shooters?
Simmons reminds me of a Lamar Odom (with a higher ceiling if it goes well obviously)
Not sold on either guy but its still a talent infusion we need desperately.
its all about intangibles at this point, he's cornerstone material, talent wise.
Haters have to cancel their rofl threads ...
Was that the first draft that almost went perfect to form?
Did only celts move up?
the media trying to portray Dikembe as some sort of prognosticator to deflect from the conspiracy theories
lottery pick doesnt mean that player is going to turn ur franchise around in 1 season...
these clowns aint even a once in a decade player you should be gloating about
Actually, traded their pick to the Celtics for Rondo so they won't have a 1st rd pick whatsoever.![]()
Exactly. They want the money. They want nothing else. They're gonna [Swaggy P] as soon as they sign that contract and the money transfers.
Simmons is a light skin version of Odom aka he has an at ude![]()
I'd settle for that tonite. Odom turned out to be a champion, a winner.
Except Odom was fine playing his role, Simmons is like a light skin chick.
I get the criticism for Simmons, but I also think Ingram is being wildly overrated as part of the backlash against all the Simmons hype (as well as Lakerfan hoping to draft "the real star" with the second pick). Ingram wasn't even the first option on his own team; Grayson Allen had the higher usage rate. Most of his stats on offense have been padded as a stretch-4 against college bigs who are too slow to guard him, yet he's projected as a small forward in the NBA. He's also a terrible free throw shooter - maybe a sign of mental weakness? He'll be a very good defender just because of his length alone, but people need to chill with the Durant comparisons.
off got... we got this.
Wendell Smallwood
I have high hopes for Ingram. He's wiry thin, but can shoot, nice handles, decent defender, and nice finisher. In Dubs offense he should shine.
He has shown he can put on weight too (going from 169 pounds to 190 as a freshman). Not saying muxh tbhWhen this kid fills out, we will have a player on our hands. Our strength and conditioning coach will be key to his development. He needs to put on about 25 more pounds. But Simmons might pull a Kobe and bully his way to LA though.
I'm hearing his impending shoes deal is worth a lot of dough in LA.
I'm honestly fine with either player tbh. I'm on record as saying I want Ingram though.
Is this legit?![]()
Im strangely with CN ...
I do think Simmons was overhyped ...
and his shot needs work ...
But you take the better player and worry less about fit.
Philly has 6 recent lotto 4s and 5s they may worry about fit
Lakers have nance and randle players i like ...
but not enough to pass on Simmons if he is the best player
But either way not our choice
But if Simmons wants us that bad maybe it was meant to be
I like both guys but neither are no brainers like adavis ...
To me its not even as clear as last year when half this board and LG was on the oakafor hype train ...and i was all Kat.
I havent made up my mind yet but leaning Simmons.
Agreed. I'm of two frames of thought on Simmons:
1) 6' 155lbs Steph took a no name Davidson team to an elite 8. Simmons couldn't at least make the big dance? That's a red flag to me.
2) Simmons has all the tools, but he can't shoot. Well, neither could Blake Griffin coming into the league (or Mailman back in the day). Now Griffin is automatic out to about 18 feet (he even makes 3s on occasion). Shooting can be improved.
Ingram can do it all. I don't need him to have Simmons' passing ability - we have Russell for that. All he has to do is gain weight to be a monster in this league.
Admittedly, I'm on the fence. I'd be happy with either one. Both have plusses and minuses to their game but are not nearly a finished product.
My dude. This is something, doesnt matter who we draft or if we trade the pick. Something is better than nothing. We are finally trending upwards.
Well said.
I will really watch some clips and make a final "decision" on who I think is the better player.
But either way I think we get a an important piece eventually our #2 on a good team.
We have guys that can be our #3 and #4 we just lack the legit #1 which unfortunately the most important piece.
