In WWII women quit their jobs and became steel workers to help with the effort. It probably sucked for them, but they endured. They got along...and did their part to help. ...just google Rosie the Riveter. Even the women back then did their part.
It's just the way most Americans are today. When 9/11 happened....probably 80-90% of the country was in favor of going to war.
