We were in Vietnam since 1950. First as advisers to the French and then later assisting the South Vietnamese with counter-insurgency. The war was going to happen regardless. My point was we didn't "start" anything over there. The communists fired the first shot (against the French/South Vietnamese), and us wanting to fight communism, stuck our nose in.

I agree we shouldn't have stuck our nose in, but I understand why we did given the geopolitical climate at the time (Western powers really were fearful of the prospect of the Soviet Union expanding). Also, Ho Chi Minh was no angel (why do you think millions fled Communist Vietnam?), so those 50K died fighting a good fight, for oppressed people.

good point on the oppressed people. Moms in law, who Vietnamese, really dropped the knowledge on me. Just think it helped to "make" us the world's police. Can't have our noses in everything but if we do, it should be equal across the board when it comes to fighting. Rich kids, five deferment Cheney and poor kids all should be overseas in fatigues.

you could really see the divide in the country when he came back and was allowed to fight. Conservatives hated him. Liberals loved him. The Sixties really shaped the country and Ali was a huge part of that.

    I never defended Kobe's rape.

Clay is a draft dodging coward. His death doesn't change that fact.
You weren't right the 1st time you said. Repeating it doesn't help you. In fact, for the oldest on the forum, you post like you're the youngest (5 or so).

1st, no one force you to shine a chair Dale, not unless you've been pushed up the ladder to a commander rank and even then at Bragg you'd be in SOF or Airborne. So you're a commander of the Rangers or some elite unit?

    My ass.

Plenty of Signal people, cooks, Military Police, JAG officers, PSYCH OPS, Military Intelligence, Mechanics, Helicopter Pilots, Truck Drivers, Medics, (include about 50 more types of MOS), etc......at Bragg. Not everyone stationed at Bragg is in the 82nd Airborne or Special Forces.

Don't know why you automatically assume everyone at Bragg is in some elite combat unit.

jeebus is a mili got who picks his times to be edgy, look at that pussy's avatar..And you're quoting a piece of cuck.

That said, had to drop my dimes, RIP to the greatest boxer of his time and maybe of all time. Could talk trash as much as he'd want and back it up. His death is a big one because of what he did for his common folk (black ppl) in his time. I applaud him for dodging the draft. The Vietnam War involvement is one of this country's biggest mistakes.
Not my fault your boy is gonna be dead by the end of the year. Besides, this entire place is one massive troll forum that you're desperately trying to take seriously. Why the butthurtness, brah?

Because if Dale was some REMF he'd not be here calling Clay a coward while he pushed paper behind the safety of a desk in the CONUS.

    ?

I don't give a who Bail votes for or not. 99% of the time I can't stand Dale. We just happen to agree on this one issue. I also don't give a flying if you agree or disagree with me over Ali being a draft dodger. I've already stated my opinion on the matter. Countless men (both white and black) answered the call. I'm willing to bet that a lot of the people who got drafted (maybe even the majority of them) didn't agree with Vietnam War...but they still went anyways.

What pisses me off more than anything is you of all people tugging at the heartstrings of the other posters here. I hate racists You're not that guy. You're the same guy who starts a thread about how ugly Kobe's children are....the same guy who laughs at the death of kids who died in a tragic bonfire accident....the same guy who says if he buys the site misogyny will be encouraged not met with banning. (When spurraider and 100%Duncan got banned over Becky comments)

    1. Making fun of dead kids = O.k. in your book
    2. Misogyny = Encouraged
    3. Thread being a racist = Borderline worst thing possible.

I just don't get it bruh. The area where you draw the line between allowed and taboo is shocking to me.
Don't blame me if your tax-payer-funded-because-you-went-camping-for-9-months, bottom-of-the-barrel university education can't teach you how to distinguish between jokes against rivals versus condemning an avowed racist who you're comporting with.

    Ali didn't dodge.

One would think that a "law scholar" would know his case was adjudicated at the highest court in this land and his conviction was overturned.
the grounds for the reversal was largely because of a technical/clerical error. i'm not here to get into the deeper legal issues about it.

like i said in the thread in the club, he's the goat boxer, one of the most influential athletes of all time, and i do have respect for what he stood for outside of the ring. that said, i dont look at the draft issue as a positive like others do

We did support Saddam in that campaign but we didn't arm him. Political photo ops aren't evidence. I understand you're a naive college student who is likely in his anti-American phase, but you need to put that education to use and actually do some research.

Fact can't be "spun" only cited.

    http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2003/mar/06/uk.iraq

Any more questions? Or are you in that additional phase that accompanies the anti-American phase that thinks Europe is the friendly, tolerant, cultured and all inclusive society compared to America's imperialist war mongering?
I should have been more clear , I was talking about the weapons that did real damage, the chemical ones , remember those?

the #1 world threat to peace is Israel , whose monetary influence controls pretty much all of American foreign politics.
I agree. Rothschild Zionists sail this ship. The Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission are the buffers.

Did you miss the Guardian article I linked? It's a do ent ed fact that the UK built that factory. Thatcher even gave the firm who did a tax break

There's no record (that I know of) of the US selling Saddam chemical weapons. However, we did know about him using them and turned the other way since he was an "ally," But truth is Saddam was more France and the UK's buddy then he was ours.
