MJ money
Front offices know that the large LARGE majority of their season ticket fanbase are player lovers. They will pay to see Conley back even if a better PG can be had for less.
mike conley never a allstar, but plays like one....still allstar game is nothing more then a popularity contest selection
still 30m for him it overpaying...
why did the grizzlies outbid themselves to re-sign him?, they couldve just match whatever starting salary package other teams could offer him..instead of shooting themselves in the foot with a albatross contract....then again small team with stacks of money need to overpay to keep/get talent
Hot Rod Williams
Jon Koncak
Rashard Lewis
Mike Conley
Lmfao..guy isn't even proven. What a waste of money.
What a time to be an NBA player's wife. $$$
This is completely unreal, the whole league is taking cyanide pills, jesus christ, overpaying average players just to keep making the playoffs and not contend. Horrible business decisions.
Conley has averaged 13.6 points, 5.6 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game over the course of his career = $30 million.:
i don't have a problem with this, he's a great player and has been leading the team his whole career with no drama or selfishness or tyness. I have a problem with people being rewarded for nothing.
A role player who has never been an all star one single time in eight seasons is the highest paid player in NBA history? Yeah nothing wrong with this picture.![]()
lol all star as a criteria.. he's one of the few pgs that can legitimately defend. he's a great guy to build a winning team around, you can surround him with shooters and a big center and you get an half court strong offense that can perform in the playoffs. I would bet on conley to win a le before i bet on chris paul any day of the week.
I like conley but he is not a ing max player only drummond was somewhat deserving everyone else was overpaid except maybe ckarkson and a few others
LOL at your delusion in thinking he is worth $35 million at the end of his deal. Conley a solid role player but there's no way he's worth anywhere near what he was paid. If Memphis was close to winning a championship maybe an argument can be made to be stupidly reckless like this but there is a 0% chance Conley will win an NBA le with Memphis in the next five seasons so it's essentially money flushed down the toilet.
I wouldn't have given him a dime. He never answers the bell. Ever.
that's a good point i'll give you that, but if they were to renounce on conley because they are not contenders, then they would have to do the same with gasol. Instead they signed parsons so they are at least a little better than they were, there is some logic there.
meh, i like drummond but he's not even in the same conversation with conley at the moment. Drummond can't even play crunch time.
This contract, the Batum, and the Beal deal. These contracts are a slap in the face to all the true max players in history.
I was wondering why all those NFL players were hating on Twitter.
So i guess he won't be playing for the Spurs next season.....![]()
Exactly...they made a choice.....a lot of them were 2 or 3 sport athletes in HS......but chose football above the others. Deal with it.
Plus 90 million divided by 15 will always be larger per person than 120 million divided by 53.
