Top 5
I am truly jealous of everyone who has had the privilige of watching his career from end to end!
Thanks for an amazing ride #21: Timmy GOAT Duncan. I did not become a spurs fan because of you but man did you win over me. Your teachings on and off the court have trascended my life: your heart, passion for the game, unselfishness, leadership, intelligence, sportsmanship and whatnot other qualities most athletes will never have. As someone here said, you were truly THE whole package. Spurs fans will miss you and it really pains me not being able to watch you anymore.
. Happy retirement! Thanks for the memories; thanks for Game 6 in 2013; thanks for Game 7 in 2013; thanks for Game 6 WCF in 2014; thanks for 2014. Thank you for everything!
The city of San Antonio has to announce an official public holiday honouring Tim. July 11, every single year.
Hasn't been uttered ONCE in the media...they're scared to. Everyone runs happily to greatest PF and some even questioned if he's top TEN! Absolutely crazy! But then again, that's how its always been. Salute to a Top 5 GOAT and the greatest franchise player (not just spurs) of all time!
class act, pure champion.
the nba lost most of its class today.
i woke up. saw the news on my phone and cried for like 10 mins.
tim was my only hero. peace out to the motherfukin greatest
Sad day I tell you. I guess the wheels finally fell off. It was a beautiful era. My favorite player of all time , and in my view, the greatest ever to play. He is a true role model. Never hit his chest after a layup or chewed a mouthpiece as a symbol of arrogance. His consistency, humility and greatness will be immortal.
It's not winning 5 les, it's winning 5 les with the most cursed and naive team in sport history, that what really show how great he was, but it also put me in big feeling of sorrow and missing that hard for me to carry on with...
Thank you TIMMMYYYY
TIM DUNCAN
Paraphrasing a great ESPN comment: "Tim was more than a basketball player. Tim taught me to always persevere, to pursue excellence without flash, and to put others before myself."
Some will say that Tim was defeated, finally, by Father Time. Those of us who watched Tim will know that he is Father Time. But even Mr. Time needs to move on when his work is done.
Thank you Tim for being the fundamental part of the Spurs and the City of San Antonio. I salute you.
Thank you Mr. Duncan for all the great memories.
Greatest PF!
Enjoy life now.
This sucks
Spurs era without Duncan starts next season. Sigh
Never been so emotional about a guy retiring. It's odd, I know it's because there are so many memories, I've had. I grew up watching Tim play, just so many emotional memories. As Bruce said sometimes all you can say is thank you. Thank you TD, you are the Spurs and always will be.
Dirk Nowitzki to ESPN on Timmy: "He was always about winning, never about making a brand out of himself. That's what I appreciated the most"
He deserves to go out on his terms. Thank you, Tim Duncan!!!
Man ever since I installed that NBA app on my phone this summer, I keep on getting bad news.
Durant to GSW while I was gassing my car.
Now I get an alert Duncan announces retirement while I was at work.
That NBA app! ARG!
Back in the day I couldn't stand that guy, but later one I found that Dirk is a really cool dude.
Sad day. Spent the majority of my life watching and following the guy.
Here's to you, Tim![]()
Is Tim even going to do a press conference? So fitting if he doesn't. My hero. I love him for it!
Another SI mag for my collection no doubt. Enjoy retirement, for the few months you experience it.
