And now it's turned into little league game out there.
I knew it was a mistake to go to Urias. Inexplicable move by Roberts. The dumb . He may get his back up now and refuse to send CK out there tomorrow.
I knew he wouldn't be able to walk the line. Had to get cute. The .
Who would you have gone with?
Good . Glad to have Lester take the mound for a pivotal game 5.
Maeda, then CK. He had the opportunity to NOT have to return to Chicago. Now, he has to.
It's piss pot. Totally unnecessary to use Urias there. He's got a big in' head now.
Gee, this gets ESPN off suicide watch. Mother ers.
Fair point. One would worry about possibly overtaxing CK, but if Roberts wasn't worried bout that during the game 5 save or following it up with a game 2 start than why start now indeed.
Just because you start him doesn't automatically mean he has to go 7-9 innings. Just get him started and count back from 9.
Got to get that 1st run in the playoffs. It's powerful and s with the opponents mind & mindset.
I just pray he comes to his senses tonite & starts CK tomorrow nite. Have to win it tomorrow nite to even stand a chance in Chicago. Even then you'll have to bring CK back for 7 if we lose 6.
GG, Lefty. Urias has a bright future, and he didn't necessarily pitch badly, just made a couple of rookie mistakes. If he would've stayed high in the zone with fastballs against Heyward and just spam curveballs against Russell, he probably gets out the inning giving up only one run.
Roberts is in a tough spot now. Do you roll out Kershaw tomorrow? Lester is a big time post-season lefty, and the Dodgers are totally anemic against lefties. I don't see any scenario aside from a complete Cubs' meltdown where Kenta Maeda, et al come out of this with a win.
I think you have to go for broke here. Can't see the Dodgers taking two straight in Wrigley facing Hendricks and Arrieta.
But Roberts could also be thinking if he starts Kershaw in game 5, and he loses, then it's game over. On the other hand, if the Dodgers lose tomorrow, you have a fully rested Kershaw going in game 6. Win that, and all the pressure shifts to the Cubs obviously for a game 7 in which Arrieta will start, who is probably the pitcher the Dodgers match up best with.
It's not an easy decision for Roberts, and speaks to how our starting rotation is simply over matched.
It's confirmed, Maeda will start tonite.
We'll live to regret this decision.
Now why don't they use all the technology to show at this exact same time an angle which shows if his hand has lowered to the plate -or not.
Farking all the technology in the world but still have phuck humans fixing games.

Kershaw hasn't proven he can pitch great on 3 days rest. He'll win Game 6 for you guys.
Or, put a sensor in the plate.
(Having too) & (needing too) are 2 entirely different challenges. We didn't have to leave California for Illinois, we needed to leave California for Ohio.
Fingers seems to be hovering over the plate. We see this in NFL all the time... incontrovertible proof or no overturn.
Yeah looks like his hand was in the air.
Could easily be done.
Stay tuned i will start a thread about an HBO docu that has an ex MLB player proposing exactly stuff like this. They set up a stadium with all kinds of stuff and got the accuracy to virtually 100%. Apparently an appalling 14 calls per game, be it ball-strikes or whatever are in error.
Also the field all set up with electro stuff and the practice game played -did not slow down the game one iota.
Cub called it. Maeda is garbage. Triple AAA level stuff.
Good start, just what the doctor ordered.
Dodger with that big juicy strike zone today... must be nice.
