Big Dummy, he went up against the top 3 defenses that season: Ravens/Cheatriots/Bears along w/ the Chiefs who had a very good pass defense that season.

He outplayed Brady & dragged the Colts to victory after an 18 point deficit, the 18-point comeback remains the biggest in an NFL championship game.

    Pey-Pey vs. Brady: 3-2
    You: Mad!
Isn't Fivehead supposed to be the greatest ever, according to his riders? I don't care about how good the defenses were - if he was as good as advertised, he'd have made something happen instead of riding his defense.

I don't care what his record is against Brady. Brady's a got too. Both of them are nothing compared to the true GOAT QBs.

Five Heads ISN'T the best ever () but he is more accomplished than Kerchoke. Pey-Pey pulled off the biggest comeback against "Mr. Clutch" Grady meanwhile Kerchoke got out-dueled by a minimum salary pitcher.

Montana/Steve Young are the two best SB winning QBs & I'll take Drew Brees over Pey-Pey/Grady.

Rangers have been to the big dance though. I think the Nationals are a better comparison.
    Mariners.

Not saying you're wrong, but I haven't been able to find a source that agrees with you.

I can personally vouch for the Marlins having been in at least one World Series.

I mistook his mention of the Mariners as the Marlins.

As much as I want to see the Cubs fall on their face, Cleveland sold their soul to Lebron so they can burn.

lol you really had me guessing there. I guess if you are counting the Expos' history, the Nats are probably worse than the Mariners, though everyone knows that the '94 Expos would have won it all.

Hard to pick who to root for. Since JoeTait seems to be a fine fellow I will back the Indians. I heard a rumor the Wild Thing was going to make an appearance and throw out the first pitch. Go Tribe tbh

Cubs are still the better team here. Although the gap is not as significant as it was vs Giants or Dodgers. Their bullpen and running game remains a concern, but their line up is essentially AAA lvl compared to ours. Better team should previal once again.

The Indians are playing with house money. Not many people in and around Cleveland thought they'd be in the World Series, especially after the wave of injuries to their pitchers. In fact long-time Tribe beat reporter Paul Hoynes openly wrote them off after Carlos Carrasco got hurt.

    http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index...land_indi.html

So it's a pleasant surprise that they're here. As far as the Tribe's championship drought is concerned there isn't much pressure there, either. IMO the Tribe's drought has always been secondary to the overall civic sports drought. The year 1964 always had more meaning than the year 1948, and 1964 is dead and buried. If the Tribe wins it'll be amazing, but if they lose it won't be the end of the world. Just getting this far has been a great accomplishment.

FWIW I do think the Cubs have the superior team, but I won't pick against these Indians.

Joe Tait is definitely anti-thesis to the Cleveland fanbase. I think him and m co-worker that is a diehard OSU fan, are good people. The others insufferable Cleveland type that yelp Us vs. The World and that Believeland junk are what makes me sorta pull for the Cubs. But I hope it's a good series.

Rooting for dem Injyuns, but as long as its a good series I'll be happy. Both fanbases deserve a championship, but the media's slurping of the Cubs has made it hard to root for them.

So, what you are saying is that you want to Cubs to win the chip so media moves on to find their next darlings. I'm ok with that.

I just can't stand it when anyone and everyone goes to ridiculous lengths to cheer for a team, generally from large markets. The Cubs are likeable enough, but this buzz reminds me too much of the love the Warriors and Seacucks receive; good for their large fanbases but annoying for the rest of us.

I agree in general about how media going in ham on a team can be annoying to the fans of other teams. But these Cubbies are absolutely nothing like Dray, Klay and Steph.

iirc Bryant had his historic 5-5(3 dingers 2 double) game on the road at the Reds. Since the stadium was pretty much packed with Cubs fans, he got an unmistakable curtain call invitation that he basically refused to even acknowledge. Now imagine someone like Steph or Dray in that situation. even Harper would milked the out a moment like that.

Lackey is prolly the only Cub that I can't even stand. Especially when he stares down hitters after giving up homers or key hits. I don't understand how pitcher feel like they have the right to be upset at bat-flips and a hitter admiring his ball flight when all they gotta do is pitch better to not let it happen.

Nah, the Cubs themselves are a good bunch; no problem with them. Just don't like all the ridiculous coverage when there are other teams around.

Go Tribe, tbh. If the Indians win, it just furthers LeBron's GOAT legacy even more. The Kang made CLEVELAND win again.
