Halftime
manageable lead, tbh
what the was that?!
Another instance of lack of awareness when it comes to shot selection for Kawhi...he keeps shooting when he is having ice-cold nights, but then like in this game he is looking to defer when he was feeling it resulting in shock clock violation....smh..
Really sick of the Spurs getting out-hustled and out-smarted night in and night out. They've been winning games by star power alone which won't last against the truly talented teams.
Too early to take clutch shots....![]()
He'll make a nice pass or hit a shot here and there, but it's just not consistent enough. He has length on defense but lacks footspeed and still ball watches too much.
Diff between he and the other guy we had who shall not be named, is it seems Anderson will only get mins when Manu is out. The other dude was a starter
Blame it on micromanagment. Mircomanagment can ruin decision making.
LMA just coasts when Pau is the one getting the touches.
Y'all wanted him to pass so Kawobe is going to sabotage the game to make a point.........in the 2nd quarter.
this everytime he takes a few shots in a row pop pulls him happened earlier in the quarter
Everyone in the SL outside Kawhi ing coasts; it's the reason this team gets off to such bad starts. Pop refusing to do anything about it makes the situation worse.
That's why I advocate packaging a pick or picks with another asset to make a trade/trades. The odds that the Spurs will turn a pick into a decent roster player are so extremely small that trading it seems far more likely to net the team something of value.
Kawhi is highly talented, but is he cerebral enough to be the ball dominant SF? There is a certain amount of basketball smarts one needs when controlling the ball. For example, shot clock awareness, when to go for a quick three, etc. I always took those smarts for granted with Manu and Tim, and Tony to a lesser extent. Just don't know how smart he is. Hardworking, absolutely. Smart, I don't know bc he doesn't really talk.
We really need to keep Gasol and Aldridge off the floor together as much as possible.
its the second half, bring it on Spurs!!!
He is really smart on the defensive end so i don't think thats it.
Yes but his D is more his physical features, i.e., long arms to pick off passing lanes and good timing. I don't know if he studies guys like Bruce did.
Petsonally I think this is a very relevant point. He is a great player but possibly not a natural scorer/facilitator. Fortunately his defense is so good it's hard to criticize him without a smile. He will eventually need to study opponents.
Kawhi isn't a natural scorer/playmaker but he has been training towards becoming a black belt the past two season but it takes time.
And KL can still become a much better dribbler.
It's been like this the last few years, since the splitter days. SL would start out slow offensively and the bench would come in and change the pace.
Pop made adjustments in the playoffs of course, starting Diaw or whatever. But if nothing else it gives our bench confidence and valuable experience. So if they pick it up late in the season, with a bench who is confident, that's really a win/win
I mean if you really watch him he hawks passes a lot cutting off plays before they even happen i don't think he studys individuals like bruce did but i think he is more aware of the offense the team as a whole is trying to run. I think its more he has never been the one to have the ball in his hands and facilitate so he is still learning its not just going to happen over 20 or so games.
Unrelated to the game, but looks like Phil Jackson has just completed the NBA's reeducation class for people that give politically incorrect opinions as seen through the eyes of the LeBron James, policer of words.

Of course, ESPN, mouthpiece for the league, reports it.
