While a lot of people are punching their clowns over a USC- UT Rose Bowl, there's a lot of unbeaten teams still out there and some look like they'll be a bigger factor than advertised.

In the ACC, #4 Florida State in the Atlantic and #3 Virginia Tech in the Coastal are not scheduled to play each other this season, meaning there's a very real chance that both might be undefeated going into the conference le game. The Hokies have to play a decent Maryland team, Miami, and then BC the next three weeks. The 'Noles also have to square off against Maryland, but the biggest remaining game for FSU is against Florida at the Swamp.

#5 UGA is probably the biggest mystery of the bunch. They knocked off the Rocky Tops, ranked eighth, on Saturday for their biggest W of the year, but only the tail Party game seems to be their biggest obstacle until the SEC le game in the ATL. The Dawgs struggled against Spurrier and the other USC earlier this season, and the East looks awfully weak besides this two horse race.

#7 Alabama controls their own destiny moreso than any other team I've mentioned. After kicking Florida's ass around the block last week and finding the cover of SI, they have games remaining against Tennessee and LSU. The Tide already have one top-15 W, and now have the opportunity to get two more before even getting to the conference championship.

#20 UCLA deserves at least a little mention with their victory over Cal yesterday, but I don't think they'll survive back-to-back regular season ending games with Arizona State and USC. The Bruins do get to avoid Oregon this season, and of course the Pac-10 has no le game.

#16 Penn State has somehow survived the rough and tumble Big Ten so far with a perfect record and W's over Minnesota and Ohio State, but there's some big games left against Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State. Only the Badgers game is in Happy Valley. If they win out, and I don't see it happening, JoePa and the Nittany Lions are a lock for Pasadena.

Which leaves the Vocational School of Overhyped Offense at Lubbock, ranked #15th. After a wild finish and win over previously undefeated Nebraska Saturday, VS3O-L might feel that they deserve a top ten ranking. If Texas gets by the People's Republic of Boulder next weekend and the Raiders beat K-State, the Big 12 game of the year will be on the 22nd when VS3O-L comes to Austin.
