Nothing like ignorant dogma to shape the evolving world. That's why old people die and new minds develop, because learning requires absence of certain ingrained dogmatic notions. Some call it deterioration of morality, but it's how nature runs. Are we more correct than nature?

Just imagine if we lived 1000 years. Imagine we'd still be in the dark ages because people cannot let go of misconceptions and dogma, and the older people get the more sure they are of their unsubstantiated mythical beliefs.

Really? Did your grandparents adopt a more progressive view as they aged? People seem to think that living 1000 years means you'd build on all that knowledge and be so smart, but you'd also retain those dogmas unless you were around a fresh batch of younger people all the time. Why should a 1000 year old have a more progressive outlook than a 100 year old? Where along that timeline does the progressive outlook start?
