Spurs held OKC to 35% from the floor tonight. THAT kind of D could make them contenders. I don't know if they can do it again, but tonight it was fun to watch.
I don't know butvI suspect he didn't run the play Pop wanted and went for his shot. It's a pearning experience... Tough.

Just to remind everyone: "Kawhi Leonard: System Player".
I would even fear the Grizz right now. During this stretch it's been more apparent outside of Kawhi and in some cases LMA, this team is inconsistent. It doesn't take a lot for our role players to go cold or be non factors.
Awww... don't start that .
I don't know what's up with him. I guess unless Tony is rested or injured or it's garbage time we won't see him. He's going to have have growing pains. I suppose it's Pops process.
OKC thugs. Lee, Kawhi, LMA, Manu and Tony all took shots from them.
This team struggles against athleticism, which the Grizz lack. Plus Pau will get up to play his brother. Spurs should win that series in 5.
Yes, worth a rewindheard it clearly on my speakers after his stupid turnover with 10secs left
Another poster said he left his man wide open for a corner 3. Pop's yanking him for laziness on defensive makes more sense. But I confess I didn't see the play.
Good point. I would definitely want to avoid OKC in the first round though. You called it, their athleticism is still overwhelming. I think Spurs could still beat them but they would be banged up in the process. It's too bad the Dubs can avoid OKC in the first round and just have to settle for Nuggets/Guests![]()
Me either... that makes more sense. He has to take the garbage minutes seriously for Pop to take him seriously in turn. Thanks for sharing.
Uneven playing field, tbh. OKC plays "physical" ball and gets away with committing fouls. But the Spurs get called for ticky-tacky stuff. Looking to the postseason a big question is: how can the Spurs develop a plan to even the playing field?
Apparently we like to beat playoff teams and lose to ty ones.
Pop just said Simmons is "Playing smarter all the time. Playing within himself. Playing with teammates. He's just getting better all the time."
Wow that is high praise.![]()
Did anyone else watch the post game on NBA TV? Isaiah Thomas had a lot of praise for Leonard and even stated that Leonard would be his pick for MVP.
Man he was mean, but he's changing his scene and he's doing the best that he can.
Just minimize the number of shots they can take at you by handling your business and eliminating them. Spurs should beat OKC in 5 if healthy.
You mean to the one reporter with the accent? Yeah, for a guy who lectures other people so much, he sure doesn't have any problems treating people with total disrespect. Even when I agree with Pop, I mostly don't like what he says - just because he's such a bas about it.
Wish I could see such things. Glad to hear that Kawhi is beginning to generate some support.
Actually, it was a song reference.
(Not that I disagree with you about Pop's at ude.)
Great reference
It can't get no worse![]()
