Alan Dershowitz wanted nothing to do with Trump's latest lawsuit

Trump's inner circle reached out to noted attorney Alan Dershowitz to contribute to the former president's

class-action lawsuit against the big tech companies for booting him off their platforms and

    Dershowitz took a pass.

Trump inadvertently reveals how his election lies cost Republicans control of the US Senate

Months before the 2020 election, Donald Trump began questioning the legitimacy of the vote, repeatedly claiming that it was impossible for him to lose to Joe Biden.

In October, Trump discussed how it would be psychologically devastating if he were to lose the election, going so far as to say he would be so embarrassed he might have to leave the country in shame.

When voters in Georgia went to the polls for the state's runoff elections in January,

many Republicans reportedly believed Trump's lies enough to conclude that there was no point in voting.

"And what happened is we had two senators running, a couple of months later, and you know what happened to them?

The Republicans said, 'We're not going out to vote, because this was rigged, this election was rigged,'"
Trump explained, inadvertently revealing how his lies hurt the GOP at the ballot box.

The loss of the two seats resulted in Democratic Party control of the U.S. Senate.

    'They're bullying her':

Trump Organization witness under gag order after revealing tax fraud scheme

The former daughter-in-law of the Trump Organization's indicted financial chief is being silenced as she fights to keep custody of her children.

is willing to speak with journalists, but she's under a judge's gag order,

"Defendant, Jennifer Weisselberg, shall refrain from having any discussions or interviews whatsoever with the press about the parties' children… the custody proceeding… or her motivation for giving interviews insofar as it concerns the children,"

it's part of a broader campaign of witness intimidation that includes demands by her ex-husband's attorney

for court-mandated mental health evaluations and drug tests

intended to harm her reputation before she testifies at a potential criminal trial.

"So it's come full circle; lost her children, lost all her money, she is going to lose where she's lived for the last year and… now, she's losing her right to speak."

    "It's a silencing tactic,"

"They're bullying her and they're being completely one-sided. They're putting her in the hot seat so Barry doesn't have to be."

DOJ delivers a 'significant' blow to Trump as Capitol riot hearings open

Trump's alleged efforts to get Justice Department officials to overturn the results of the 2020 election cons ute an "extraordinary cir stance" and

    are
not protected by executive privilege, the DOJ wrote in a letter this week.

the DOJ advised officials who served in the Trump administration that

they can give "unrestricted testimony" to committees investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection,

it's a matter of "settled law" that executive privilege doesn't apply to extraordinary cir stances.

Trump "pressured DOJ officials overturn the results of the election,

asking them to open investigations into claims of vote tampering

that investigators said they had already looked into and determined to be untrue."

Trump was attempting to use the DOJ to advance his "personal political interests."

cons ute exceptional cir stances warranting an accommodation to Congress

Trump could face exposure of his post-election attempts to suborn his own DOJ to tilt a lost election in his favor; it has opined against executive privilege for this cluster of facts.

The Senate Judiciary Committee and House Oversight and Reform Committee launched investigations earlier this year into allegations that former President Donald Trump improperly sought to use the resources of the U.S. Department of Justice to help him overturn the 2020 presidential election. According to the New and Politico, the Department of Justice has now informed Trump administration witnesses that it does not support York Timesan assertion of executive privilege — in its presidential communications” and “deliberative process” components — on matters related to this nucleus of facts. As a result, the department has advised the witnesses that they may provide “unrestricted testimony.” (Update: the Department’s letters are now publicly available.)

Here's the exact law legal experts think Trump broke when he ordered DOJ to declare election 'corrupt'

Trump told the top officials at the United States Department of Justice to declare the results of the 2020 election "corrupt" in a desperate bid to cling to power.

this is a clear violation of 18 U.S.C. § 610, which details actions that cons ute illegal coercion of political activity.

the law states that "it shall be unlawful for any person to intimidate, threaten, command, or coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, command, or coerce, any employee of the Federal Government...

to engage in, or not to engage in, any political activity, including, but not limited to, voting or refusing to vote for any candidate or measure in any election, making or refusing to make any political contribution, or working or refusing to work on behalf of any candidate."

The law also states that anyone found guilty of this offense

"shall be fined under this le or imprisoned not more than three years, or both."

    Will Garland move?

Will Pelosi impeach? for this and for The Trump-Made-Worse Pandemic
