The Claremont Ins ute triumphed in the Trump years. Then came Jan. 6.

After Trump helped revolutionize Claremont from a minor academic outfit to a key Washington player, the think tank is facing blowback for standing by lawyer John Eastman after he counseled Trump on overturning the 2020 election.

The next four years would revolutionize the role of the Claremont Ins ute and a handful of other intellectual ins utions that preach an America-first, originalist ideology.

The ins ute — along with its journal, the Claremont Review of Books, as well as related journals such as American Greatness, and
    allied organizations, including

    Michigan’s Hillsdale College

gained influence during Trump’s tenure, funneling ideas and personnel to the administration despite Trump’s lifelong su ion of academics and other experts.

Eastman’s legal strategy drew on doctrine that for many years has been at the heart of the ins ute’s politics.

the role played by one of Claremont’s leaders, John Eastman, has divided its followers and raised some of the same questions posed in that 2016 email

the Claremont Ins ute, where he sits on the board of directors, stood by Eastman, keeping him on as head of its Center for Cons utional Jurisprudence, a position for which he was paid $120,000 in 2020, tax records show.

An ins ute statement condemned “widespread lies peddled by malicious domestic political opponents” and decried a “blackout on the Claremont Ins ute or on John.”
“How on Earth does Eastman get to this point of being ready to jettison the Cons ution?”

“It’s by pushing deeper into this idea of natural rights, which justify any means necessary to preserve the republic. …

That’s how Claremont goes from this quirky intellectual outfit to one of the main intellectual architects of trying to overthrow the republic.”

When you lose Fox, Rogan and the RNC...

Negative approval seems to be getting worse recently, wonder what accounts for that.

I know Dems think it's the Jan 6th spectacle they've got going on, but in actuality, many people like myself were saying 6 months ago we hope DeSantis runs and Trump drops out. Policy wise I am with him on plenty, but he is just too damn polarizing and if he were to get in again, you people would start with Russia BS and other baloney investigations to try and get him removed. That's all we would see for 4 years.

DeSantis gives us Trump policy with Ronald Reagan type tact and wittiness.

When you lose Fox, Rogan and the RNC...

Trend seems to have quickened recently, wonder what accounts for that.

    Current poller coaster vibe

independent voters have soured on Trump in recent weeks: The latest survey found 29% of independents hold favorable views of the former president, matching his standing in a survey conducted the weekend after the Jan. 6 Capitol attack and down from 38% at the end of May.

lol tact and wittiness DeSantis is meaner than Trump by miles. And unlike Trump, his mind is sound.

The pivot to DeSantis hardly comes as a surprise, Trumpism without Trump was eventually going to happen, there's not much juice left in the tank.

'Could be devastating': Here's why the new subpoena for Trump lawyer's phone could put him at serious risk

    On Wednesday, the Justice Department
obtained a new search warrant for Donald Trump attorney John Eastman's phone,

"What's on that cell phone is crucial, and it could be devastating to the former president. Eastman presented trump with a guide for overturning the election and played a major role in the fake elector scheme."

his push to stop another subpoena from the House Select Committee investigating January 6 ended in failure.

Trump Claims Justice Department Cannot Prove He Ever Acted as a President

Predicting that “their case is about to fall apart,”

Donald J. Trump claimed that the Department of Justice has “zero proof” that he ever acted as a President.

“This is the greatest witch hunt of all time,” Trump told Fox News’s Sean Hannity.

    “Merrick Garland and the D.O.J.

will never, ever find evidence of me doing something a President would do.”

Lol Rogan was never a fan... And the RNC buckled because they had to... As for Fox, you can never take that rag outlet seriously when they hire the likes of Donna Brazille and others so it's a wash regardless.

You'll get there as well, Winester, but you won't have made President. He's 1 of only 44 others across 4 centuries to have done it.
