Trump Scheme Backfires As Millennial Women Can’t Stand Ivanka Trump

The woman who is supposed to be President Trump's "in" with women is not so much. Especially among millennial women.

They really, really disapprove of Ivanka.

Among women age 18-34, only 21% have a favorable view of Ivanka Trump, while 52% have an unfavorable view according to a Survey Monkey poll.

According to the survey, 39 percent of Americans overall have a favorable view of Ivanka Trump,

while 37 percent have an unfavorable view,

and 22 percent say they don’t know enough to say.

(First lady Melania Trump matches Ivanka in popularity, with an identical approval rating of 39 percent, and an unfavorability rating of 33 percent.)”

In August of 2016, only 28% of women ages 18 to 34 said they had a favorable view of Ivanka Trump, while 42% had an unfavorable view, according to a Cosmopolitan/Morning Consult survey.

So Ivanka has lost about 7% in approval and gained 10% in disapproval since August.

A net 17% loss in what started out poorly.

It could be that millennials are much less prone to buying the “locker room talk” baloney about Trump’s sexual assaults.

The culture around rape and sexual assault has changed for millennials; while it’s still happening, there isn’t as great of a tolerance for “rape culture” — and Donald Trump is walking rape culture.
Ivanka did better with older women and with men, naturally.

She was designed by her father to target men, not women.

This same survey showed that the folks with the most visibility in the Trump camp are the most despised, like

Kellyanne Conway with only 26% approving of her,

only 25% approve of Sean er,

    Reince Priebus is at 21%,

and the white supremacist determined to destroy our government, aka, the conservative from Breitbart

Steve Bannon is at a a very sad 20% of approval.

To put this mildly, America is not impressed with the Trump inner circle.

Appeals court rules that Donald Trump's golf course still owes more than $400,000 to paint store

Circuit Court Judge Jorge Cueto, presiding over a lawsuit related to unpaid bills brought by a local paint store against the Trump National Doral Miami golf resort, ordered the billionaire politician’s company to pay the Doral-based mom-and-pop shop nearly $300,000 in attorney’s fees.

All because, according to the lawsuit,

Trump allegedly tried to stiff The Paint Spot on its last payment of $34,863 on a $200,000 contract for paint used in the renovation of the home of golf’s famed Blue Monster two years ago.

Trump National Doral Miami must pay The Paint Spot more than $32,000 plus attorney’s fees of about $390,000, meaning

the total Trump must hand over is almost triple the original paint bill of $142,530.

    The
ruling was issued Wednesday by Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal in Miami.

“The case should never have reached this stage,” Daniel Vega, attorney for The Paint Spot, said in an interview. The property’s owner "refused to ever consider any type of reasonable settlement," he said.

Conservative columnist offers a brutal assessment on why Trump bombed Syria

“Once sworn in, rather than get a political honeymoon with the news media, Trump had an angry divorce,” Goldberg notes.

“And instead of giving Trump a big gift-wrapped box of legislation, Congress has mostly given him the sorts of headaches presidents have to deal with when they’ve lost their clout.”

“What happens when the list of easy Ws runs out?” he asks.

“There’s little evidence that Trump is operating with a coherent strategic vision, which means that he won’t have a thought-out criteria for knowing when to say no to the generals he clearly admires.

For a true lame duck president, that may not matter —

when the Ws run out, he’s out of office.

For a first-term president who just acts like a lame duck president, it’s another story.”

How Trump Embodies The Right-Wing Media’s Caricature Of Obama:

    Lazy Knitter, Secretive, And Corrupt

During Barack Obama’s presidency, perhaps no conservative media outlet lamented as loudly about the frequency of the president's golf games as Tucker Carlson's Daily Caller.

Year after year, a parade of Daily Caller staffers lined up to feed the phony outrage machine by detailing the supposedly mountainous taxpayer costs associated with the excursions. The headlines often stressed that Obama’s golf trips took place against the backdrop of grim news events, suggesting the president was pampered and out of touch:

Milwaukee Burns, Louisiana Floods, Obama Golfs” (August 15)

As Suspected Terror Rages In Berlin, Obama Hits Hawaiian Golf Course” (December 19)

For eight years, the “Obama golfs too much” narrative served as shorthand for the right-wing press to denigrate the president as lazy, not serious, and tone deaf.

And then came President Donald Trump.

What else did the far-right press love to hit Obama on? Corruption, naturally. (Note that unlike some of Obama's predecessors, during his two terms "there were no grand juries investigating his aides. There were no impeachments.

There were neither convictions of White House staffers, nor pardons to protect government officials.")

Today, while Trump and his family obliterate all the norms for White House corruption and self-enrichment, the same critics remain mostly mute.

Trump now seems to embody everything the right-wing press complained about regarding Obama. And suddenly they’re fine with it.

JARED KUSHNER CALLS KIM JONG-UN “TOTALLY UNQUALIFIED PERSON” WHO GOT JOB ONLY THROUGH NEPOTISM

WASHINGTON —Offering a stunningly blunt appraisal of the North Korean leader, Jared Kushner said on Tuesday that Kim Jong-un was a “totally unqualified person” who attained his position of power only through nepotism.

“Here you have a guy who has no government experience, and he’s in charge of the whole thing,”

Kushner said, in an interview with Fox News.

“It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard of.”

    Kushner noted that,

instead of working his way up and acquiring the skills necessary to do his job, the North Korean leader had been given huge responsibilities and power “only because of family connections.”

“There’s only one word for that,” he said. “Nepotism.”

    Kushner called the notion of

such an unqualified person conducting foreign policy “beyond belief.”

“I mean, why would you let someone with no experience in foreign affairs anywhere near such important decisions?”

    Kushner added.

“Why would anyone take someone like that seriously?”

Kushner said that the people of North Korea

must look at the powerful position attained by the “totally inexperienced and unqualified” Kim

    and shake their heads.

“They’ve got to be asking themselves, ‘Who elected him?’ ” he said.

Trash encourages Repugs to be politically incorrek

Florida Republican senator calls fellow senators the N-word and ‘b*tch’ in racist rant with black colleagues

A Republican state senator from Miami used the n-word in a conversation with two black colleagues on Monday night—in addition to flung insults at his female colleague, including “f*cking asshole,” “ ” and “girl,”

Florida Senate president Joe Negron was able to secure his leadership role because “six n*ggers” elected him.

“He said, ‘If it wasn’t for these six n*ggers,’” Gibson explained. According to Gibson, Artiles also referred to her as “this f*cking asshole” and “this .”

Upon joining, members waive their right to sue, and in the case of Samaritan, appeals panels of randomly selected members are supposed to settle disputes. Mr. Lansberry said that such panels had been convened only four times since Samaritan’s founding in 1994, and that the group had never been the subject of complaints to state attorneys general or insurance commissioners.

The insurance commissioner in Washington State did try to stop Samaritan from operating in 2011, saying it was selling “unauthorized insurance,” but the state Legislature passed a law explicitly exempting health care sharing ministries from regulations.

Insurance commissioners in Kentucky and Oklahoma had tried to block Medi-Share, the Florida-based ministry, but were thwarted when their legislatures also passed protection laws.

In 2001, Ohio’s attorney general sued one ministry — known then as the Christian Brotherhood Newsletter, and now as Christian Healthcare Ministries — ultimately forcing its leaders to repay $15 million they had spent on homes, vehicles and excessive salaries out of the fund where members had sent payments.

Members have filed a handful of lawsuits against Medi-Share after bills they had expected to be covered were not. The cases were settled out of court. While the health law requires the ministries to submit to annual independent audits, critics question whether that safeguard is sufficient.

“Our message has consistently been that this is not a health insurance product that we regulate, so buyer beware,” said Nick Gerhart, the insurance commissioner in Iowa. “A premature baby could cost $1 million pretty easily, so it wouldn’t take very many of those to put a significant strain on any group, let alone an unregulated group like this.”

With no major legislation to his name, Trump brushes off importance of his first 100 days

The first 100 days were a big deal for candidate Trump. Now he thinks it’s ridiculous.

    Donald J. Trump
    ✔@realDonaldTrump

No matter how much I accomplish during the ridiculous standard of the first 100 days, & it has been a lot (including S.C.), media will kill!
    5:50 AM - 21 Apr 2017

Trump hasn’t shepherded a major piece of legislation through Congress, despite the fact his party controls both chambers.

His second attempt at a Muslim ban executive order was blocked by a federal court.

The Affordable Care Act repeal/replace package Congress considered last month had a 17 percent approval rating and didn’t go anywhere.

The new package that’s in the works will make premiums e for people with pre-existing conditions and hence will likely be just as unpopular.

    Here is Trump's – signed! – "100-day action plan"

    • 5:42 AM - 21 Apr 2017

“Trump actually is unusual for his first 100 days but for a reason opposite of what he said.”

“Not only has he accomplished almost nothing, but rather

his initiatives (executive orders stayed by courts, a major legislative proposal failing even to come to a vote when his party controls both houses, etc.) have notoriously been unsuccessful,” he added.

A major consequence of Trump’s failure to get much done is that promises he made on the campaign trail have already been broken.

His first month in office featured 64 broken promises, compared to just seven he was actually able to keep.

On the other hand, one thing

President Trump has accomplished is spending more time on golf courses during his first 100 days than the previous three presidents did combined.

Librarians School Ivanka Trump After Tone-Deaf Tweet

    She clearly misread the situation.

President Donald Trump released his proposed budget for 2018, which would gut four independent cultural agencies, including the Ins ute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), The Washington Post reported.

Cutting federal funding for the IMLS would be devastating for ― you guessed it ― state and local libraries across the U.S.

    Another WIN!

THE EMPTINESS OF TRUMP’S “BUY AMERICAN” EXECUTIVE ORDER

When Donald Trump unveiled his latest executive order, led “Buy American and Hire American,” he made only the barest effort to conceal the fact that the announcement was nearly entirely one of theatrics and not of substance.

He held his talk in Kenosha, Wisconsin, at Snap-on Tools, a firm that
buys Chinese and hires Chinese, Argentinian, Brazilian, and Swedish.

Seventy per cent of Snap-on’s sales are in the U.S., but many of its plants are in other countries.

There is nothing wrong with Snap-on putting its factories overseas, it just makes it an

odd place to hold a Buy American announcement.

It’s reminiscent of President Trump’s celebration of jobs at a Boeing plant while the company was
    laying offworkers.

    A Fake and a Fraud

The Washington Post’s The Fix warned readers to beware “the myth of the disillusioned Trump voter,” citing a Pew Research Center poll released Monday “showing very little buyer’s remorse among Trump voters.”

“The poll showed just 7 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents say Trump has performed worse than they expected him to. Fully 38 percent — five times as many — say he has performed better.”

the stubborn human resistance to admitting a mistake should never be underestimated.

Admitting that Trump is failing, even when he is failing you and your family specifically, is an enormous pill to swallow.

Acknowledging that your blindness, selfishness and fear compelled you to buy into a man who is selling you out may take more time.

But I think that time is coming, because Trump is an unabashed leech and an unrepentant liar.

Trump cares only about Trump, his brand and his image, his family and his fortune. Indeed, his personal philosophy as president might best be described as clan over country.

Instead of being a grenade-throwing iconoclast bent on blowing up the D.C. establishment and the big-money power structures, he has stocked his inner circle with billionaires and bankers, and he has bent to the establishment.

Trump sold himself as a populist only to line his own pockets. Trump built his entire reputation not as the champion of the common man, but by curating his image as a crude effigy of the cultural elite.

He accrued his wealth by selling hollow dreams of high society to people who wanted to flaunt their money or pretend that they had some.

Put another way, Trump’s brand is built on exclusivity, not inclusivity. It is about the separate, vaulted position of luxury, above and beyond the ability for it to be accessed by the common. It is all about the bourgeois and has absolutely nothing to do with the blue collar.

And yet somehow, it was the blue collar that bought his bill of goods. People saw uncouth and thought unconventional; they saw raffish and thought rebel.

They projected principle and commitment onto a person anathema to both. Now, we all have to pay a hefty toll as Trump’s legions cling to thinning hope.
