LMA is in a slump at the moment but overall as a Spur he's been fine. He's shooting a better percentage than his last two years in Portland, he just gets less shots and less minutes here. His defense has improved considerably and he's bitten into the team concept almost to a fault. Slumps will come and go, only real worry is his decline in rebounding but even that is partially explained by having more natural rebounders next to him (Timmy last year, Pau, Dedmon and Lee this year.)
This myth that has been pushed by some that LMA is a failure or we shouldn't have bothered to go get him doesn't fly. It's a combination of piling-on a guy whose in a shooting slump or people who somehow magically want Portland numbers without Portland shot attempts and minutes. The same people, who would complain, if those attempts reduced Kawhi's numbers.
Even with the slump LMA is shooting only a 1.5% less on FG% than Kawhi, and we're all justifiably enamoured with him.
But, yeah, a tear like last year during the second half of the season, would be very welcome indeed.
