Hasn't been the same since, IMO... maybe venting to the fans for a couple hours then breaking their hearts by shutting them down will spark the fire he had in the 2nd half of last season?

Yes he should. Frankly he's been the most disappointing player this season. All this ting on role players and wanting to make moves for really marginal players who are out of the league or coming back from injuries just to displace any guy that's 13-15 in the rotation is stupid. Guys like that that will not move the needle and may not even play in the playoffs at all.

Meantime, why don't we look at some guys who have really been disappointing?

Lamarcus: That he gives solid defense is a requirement. I have no doubt he would have found his name in a trade if he wasn't playing defense. He was paid a big deal for his whole package though, which includes him being an Offensive weapon.

Lamarcus is paid a bounty and goes out there taking 24 shots and shooting something like 37% from the midrange and the paint when half the offense is tailored for him. On top of that he doesn't get to the line Bc he's not physical enough.

The hope is he finally does turn turn the engine on.

Did you forget he was battling heart problems the whole season you stupid ? This reminds like when you used to talk about kawhi's shooting without talking about his injuries or coming back from rust.

^^ LMA was arguably a top 2 big in the league after that pathetic performance vs Golden State last Janunary..Spurs needs that version to have any chance at getting out of the West....

LMA is in a slump at the moment but overall as a Spur he's been fine. He's shooting a better percentage than his last two years in Portland, he just gets less shots and less minutes here. His defense has improved considerably and he's bitten into the team concept almost to a fault. Slumps will come and go, only real worry is his decline in rebounding but even that is partially explained by having more natural rebounders next to him (Timmy last year, Pau, Dedmon and Lee this year.)

This myth that has been pushed by some that LMA is a failure or we shouldn't have bothered to go get him doesn't fly. It's a combination of piling-on a guy whose in a shooting slump or people who somehow magically want Portland numbers without Portland shot attempts and minutes. The same people, who would complain, if those attempts reduced Kawhi's numbers.

Even with the slump LMA is shooting only a 1.5% less on FG% than Kawhi, and we're all justifiably enamoured with him.

But, yeah, a tear like last year during the second half of the season, would be very welcome indeed.

    Nice find.

LMN needs a real PG to set him up. Sadly, Tony is the only pg capable of ding that on the team.

Fine won't cut it in the playoffs. He needs to be great, otherwise it's another early exit.

The same could be said for Kawhi, Pop, and (relative to the other team's bench) Pau and Patty. We'll need Tony, Danny and Dedmon to be average to above average though too.

So now LA's struggles are Parkers fault too?

That's a negative spin on it. I'd say LMA benefits from being setup by a capable point guard. As does the whole offense.
