Witcher 3 is wildly popular with PC gamers because it's one of the few games that made really good use of gpu effects that were too expensive computationally to use on last gen consoles, as the game was developed for PC gamers first and then cut down for consoles while usually games are designed with console limitations guiding them and then they get better textures and draw distances and other small things when ported to more powerful PCs. I think it's a really good game independent of the graphics, but for a lot of PC gamers that was the game that made building a higher end system worth it. For me Witcher 3 was a 9.5/10 game since I played it on a relatively high end PC for the time, but I imagine it would probably be an 8.5/10 if I played on PS4 with the graphics and framerate cut down. Especially since PS4 got a worse port than XBox One. But still, 8.5/10 is a really good game IMO. But yeah, not game of the generation for me, even though I played the best version of the game with minimal compromise. My game of the generation was Bloodborne on PoorStation 4 with all the horrific frame pacing.God if that would have ever gotten a 60 fps PC port or even a PS5 performance patch.
