Still think the Doyers are too loaded to lose this series, but this thing is going the distance.

Gotta disagree. Not trying to hedge or have cognitive dissonance, but the Dodgers are pretty weak in the lineup after Puig. Astros have no weaknesses aside from McCann (Their 7th/8th hitter is Marwin Gonzalez with a 900 OPS, meanwhile we have For e). We probably have the slight pitching edge.

Pulled Hill way too early. Should've left him in a couple more innings. The WS/Postseason is a different beast and to expect Jensen to go 6 outs (not in an elimination setting) was too much. This is when the analytic side costs you too much. Verlander is mortal after all. Did either team lose a game at home this postseason? Going to find out in Houston if they can remain undefeated. I highly doubt it. But for a fan of baseball, last night's game was all you could ask for. First time the vaunted Dodger bullpen got knocked. Though Houston's is really, really shaky. Good series so far.

Those elotes Markazi posted look too much. I'm a purist and my elote has to be simple. But man, whenever I'm at Dodger stadium, my caloric intake is terrible. I try and stay away from the Dodger Dogs, but they do have one dog that has a complete nacho on top. I share that usually with the lady friend. But That elote looks too garish.

Yep. These analytic calculator heads need to understand that post-season baseball is more about the human element than anything else. I don't give a how X did against lefties after the 7th inning against a lineup with a low chase rate on sliders. Post-season baseball is an independent event from regular season baseball, and the eye test should reign supreme.

They interviewed Roberts today on the local station and he pulled Hill thinking that it would be ok to tax the bullpen because today was a travel day. I think that was way too steeped in the analytic side and not in the take the series by the jugular aspect that may cost the Dodgers. However, I don't think Houston will sweep the 3 at home. I just think that extending Jensen and not giving Watson more than 4 pitches really cost them. But, as a fan of the sport, the game was brilliant. Even if both bullpens were shaky at best. The Dodgers were down to Wood/Darvish after McCarthy, so in a sense, it may have been ok that they didn't burn those two. I'd be more concerned with the star power of the Astros coming alive. Now they return home with some confidence. This series looks to be a good one. Hopefully, it'll top the 7 game gem of last year's Fall Classic. I could see this going the full 7.

Indeed. The book on Hill is that teams s him on the 3rd trip around, but you could just tell Houston was having trouble with his curveball. They were desperate and, in basketball parlance, "chucking" bad shots by overswinging at everything. Even Altuve was up there hacking. Maeda, who is another crafty pitcher, also had them flummoxed and he was taken out too quickly. Then they settled against Morrow and Jansen, primarily fastball pitchers. Jansen also made a terrible pitch to Marwin on an 0-2 count.

Other tactical errors were not getting Bellinger in from 3rd with one out. "Analytics" hates the bunt, but if there was ever a time for a squeeze or contact play, that was it, since Joc is a strikeout machine I'm not really trusting to put the ball-in-play in that situation.

Knew Darvish would get lit up tonight. Houston is a bad match up for him.

Doyers could still come back though, Houston's bullpen has been sketchy at best and they have plenty of big bats.

AJ Hinch is literally going to gift this game away to the Dodgers at this rate. How has he not pulled McCullers yet?

Dodgers hoping for Yu not to choke now literally their only hope is for Kershaw to string together 2 great outings in one series

Astros can't do anything to Maeda. Roberts pulling him in Game 2 like he did.
