Two knee surgeries already? Not saying it's impossible to count on a guy with that history, but knee problems usually don't just disappear.

Fansided: 2017 NBA Mock Draft: New York Knicks And A Full Round 1
by Maxwell Ogden 22 hours ago [AKA 1 June 2017]

It would be undeniably risky to take this type of chance at No. 29—and borderline un-Spursian—but Giles has the highest ceiling of any player on the board. He was the No. 1 high school recruit on the ESPN 150, but battled injuries throughout his freshman season.

    29. San Antonio Spurs: Harry Giles, Duke Blue Devils

    Position: Center
    Age: 19 (4/22/1998)
    Height, Weight, Wingspan: 6’10.5″, 232 pounds, 7’3.25″
    2016-17 Slash Line: .577/.000/.500
    2016-17 Season Averages: 11.5 MPG, 3.9 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 1.6 ORPG, 0.7 BPG

The San Antonio Spurs have a superstar small forward in Kawhi Leonard and a fringe star in power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. The unfortunate reality is that just about everything beyond Leonard and Gregg Popovich is being called into question.

With Pau Gasol regressing near the end of his career and Dewayne Dedmon entering free agency, the Spurs take a chance on Harry Giles at No. 29.

Injuries aside, Giles has the physical profile of a potential star at the next level at 6’10.5″ and 232 pounds with a 7’3.25″ wingspan and a 9’1.5″ standing reach.

If Giles lives up to his potential, he could be a defensive anchor and dynamic post player player whom the offense can be run through. There’s a chance he won’t, but the Spurs are entering a transitional period in franchise history.

Giles has the potential to be a star on both ends of the floor, and there’s no better team to help him along that timeline than San Antonio.
