Manu4tres was right he needed to be traded in the past off-season when he was coming of a former all star season and a couple of 40 pts games in the playoffs... say after Tim retires they were retooling going younger with Kiwi etc. Spurs just didn't want to do the mini tank or rebuild year guys wanted.

TBH, just think. LMA is a name. If Indiana trades their best player for late first rounders and Clarkson, fans will be pissed. But if you trade him for another guy that was an all star two years ago and has a name, then people at least think you got a star in return. They won't get a better deal than that.
I don't think that's far off but Brookyln probably needs another asset if they are going to sign up for 3 years of Allen Crabbe.

Yeah, but would he commit to Pacers long term? That's the issue and it would be the issue with George to Spurs too. He's too arrogant and young to be willing to play Pippen to Leonard's Jordan and to play in San Antonio.
If both would be willing to commit, then that trade would make a lot of sense. Not really, because Pacers should prioritize picks/prospects, but Bird has long stated they don't re-build. Attempting to remain as compe ive as possible is priority and even in a diminished state, a market like Indiana, with a star less roster, can't attract a name like Aldridge.
Naturally, Spurs will aim higher to start, but in the end, a return like Bender or Chriss and maybe a future pick, is probably the most likely outcome.

LaMarcus Aldridgre is a bum. I've been saying it ever since he left Texas. He'e a jump shooting, finess, laterally slow big man who can't defend or rebound worth a damn. I was shocked when I learned the Spurs were pursuing him in FA. I knew he would forever change and slow down our offense. He was NEVER Spurs material, both physically and mentally.
The fact that he wanted out after last year and the Spurs didn't respond to it was just tragic. That was when his trade value was still up with 2 years left on his deal and most importantly before this year playoff's, where he couldn't have played worse.
Now he'd be a 32 year old 1 year rental. I mean there are some really horrible front offices out there (Sacramento) who might just be dumb enough to take him off our hands for their top 5 pick but I doubt it. We've screwed this situation by not acting on this last year.
But hey, the absolute DREAM scenario would be trading him for a top 10 pick tonight and somehow drafting Lauri Markennen, who is an absolute stud.
If we whiff with PGeorge, might want to revive them. Or better, hope that Boston gets Kristaps.
I'm not so sure that LMA will be a rental for the team that trades for him. If the cap goes down again next year he very well could opt in and cash that $22M. Teams could tighten the purse strings as soon as next summer.
