Comes out on July 21. The previews look pretty good.
Jason Bateman and Laura Linney are great though. Will definitely give it a shot.

    The synopsis reads pretty lame.

The whole family is in on it and help. Blah. Boring.

And what's with every episode having a blue hue or tint to it?

I don't do Netflix, but you're right:::Bateman always lights the screen. And you're right as well on Linney.

It's nothing groundbreaking but it's good. The tint isn't throughout the whole thing. Anyway, that's pretty normal now for crime dramas. Especially all those British/Scandinavian ones. But they are for the most part very good.

First episode was intense and got subsequently more boring each episode after.

My question was if you're gonna live like that, in an average home in a podunk hillbilly town, why not just go to the fbi and do the witness protection thing

Did you finish it? It definitely did not get boring every episode until the end.

As to your question, my guess is that he thought he could see himself clear and have a regular life after he was done washing the money. Although that has some flawed logic as well since he acknowledges that they are going to ask him to do more.

If I was put in that position, I'd have a hard time not taking the $8,000,000 and trying to disappear. Which reminds me of how unlikely it was was for him to talk the rednecks out of taking the money in lieu of $20,000.

Anyhoo...I enjoyed it and will watch the presumed 2nd season. Hillbillies vs. Cartel

    It was okay. 7/10

it got me to want to catch the next episode so the show did it's job. Show was a bit clumsy, forced jokes, average acting, etc....

Overreach. Too much peripheral drama. Overly complicated.

    Was hopeful. But it's awful.

Just got around to watching it. I kind of like the idea that it looks like Marty is getting a reputation of a ruthless killer without actually doing anything. It's not a particularly plausible story but Bateman has come a long way from Teen Wolf Too. I'm glad it has 10-episode seasons. They can supersize episodes if they need to. Will keep watching when season 2 drops at the end of the month.

I can see how it won't appeal to everyone. It self-consciously has to differentiate itself from Breaking Bad while still having a pretty substantial Venn diagram overlap. I do like that Marty is the nexus of all this criminal activity but only in control of a small part of it. The Langmores and Ruth in particular look like they will be wild cards in what has to be a very different season 2. Will be interesting to see the cartel presence there.

The color they're going with throws me off. I dont like it.

The blue hue kills me. It's too dark and I dont mean storywise.

Bateman definitely carried the show tbh, solid acting. I think 10 episodes is perfect for a show like this and wish the Marvel Netflix shows would do the same thing. I'd rather have 10 tightly paced episodes than 13 with subplots that don't go anywhere or don't pay off when compared to the amount of screen time that it eats up.

I think he's produced several of the movies he's been in. Bad Words for sure. Which was pretty funny.

This is probably one of the most interesting roles Bateman has done. In everthing else he just plays himself.

Even in this he still somewhat plays himself. It really works for this role though.
