First and biggest e is around the time many Civil War vets were dying. The one in the 1960's also coincides with the Civil War centennial. Good analysis tho.
A lot more Civil War vets died in the 1860s than the 1910's

-- yeah that's all it was.

Darrin thinks the Klan never existed, Jim Crow never happened, lynchings are a myth.
"The animated map above shows how Union and Confederate markers ac ulated over time and where. It also allows you to compare and contrast the language with which the two sections valorized their respective causes. As time progresses, monuments dot the map, accelerating at certain historical moments (around the Civil War centennial celebration, for example, which started in 1957).* The animation also highlights striking inscriptions from Union and Confederate markers. (Note: The interactive is designed so that you can watch it multiple times and see different inscriptions.)"

    But, SPLC.
It can certainly be all of those. I accept all of those. Your denial of Jim Crow, the Klan and lynchings is duly noted.

How does erecting monuments to pro slavery traitors at the centennial make it more ok?

Can't wait for the 100 year anniversary of the Third Reich... Sure to be lots of historical erections. (Pun intended)

But you think they have nothing at all to do with confederate monuments.

Our founding fathers were traitors -- to England.

They were also slave owners and tax evaders.

Our history is our history, warts and all.

How many statues of our founding fathers are in Britain, Darrin?

So, we had Jim Crow, the KKK, and lynchings. So, you think they were REALLY going to stick it to them by erecting statues of dead confederate soldiers? Meh

And they won, and that's why we're here today.

Probably would be if we were geographically connected. About 1 in 12 confederate monuments are in union states.

Absolutely. They were put up by the exact same people that were behind Jim Crow, the KKK and the lynchings. You think they were somehow completely different groups?

Explain how that would work, Darrin. Which founding fathers would Britain honor were they geographically connected?
About 1 in 12 confederate monuments are in union states.
Oh, you have a list. Give us a link to the list, Darrin. I'm keen to see which union states they are in.

So, a lot of union monuments also went up from the late 1950's to mid 1960's. Was their also an ulterior motive with those?

That SPLC analysis is such trash.

"2. There are at least 109 public schools named after prominent Confederates, many with large African-American student populations."

Yeah, because those are really OLD schools that are in THE ING SOUTH.

    How many, Darrin?

Nothing really ulterior about the motives of white Jim Crow era southerners, Darrin. Again, you're trying to separate the inseparable. It was all done by the same people.

I wish. I would make people like Darrin answer simple questions.
