He was born in KY and he already has a state park with a Washington Monument ripoff at the birthplace. A lot of public money to honor a guy who tried to escape US troops wearing his wife's clothes.
People in Gettysburg Pennsylvania drive around with confederate flag bumper stickers and don’t see the irony, this has never been about muh southern heritage.

The South won the peace. Hopefully the iconoclastic riot the public has favored us with will continue for a spell. The Second Reconstruction didn't take, but the Third one might.

another concerted push to remove monuments in other states. Virginia finished the year having removed twenty-five with North Carolina coming in at a respectable second with nineteen. Overall, close to ninety Confederate monuments have been removed across the country this year.
Here is the breakdown:

Why do Republicans want to save Democrat traitor statues?
Party of Lincoln wanting to honor Party of Lee
GOP when the topic is the history of slavery or racial injustice: "move on! get over it! that's ancient history!"
GOP when the topic is removing traitorous confederate statues: "you can't erase history! we need to preserve our history! we must always remember!"

But how will kids learn about the KKK?
Texas apparently prefers that educators skip Jim Crow and racist KKK terrorism. Texas's proposed anti-CRT law would remove both from social studies standards.
Well, they can learn about the KKK as along as the teachers don't say the KKK was morally wrong.
Democrat Commies trying to erase THEIR HISTORY so the normies don't know the ugly truth.
So don't teach the history of the Democratic Party?
"depoliticizing the classroom" has changed little since the 1920s.
