Must be honest and say always quite enjoy watching Union Berlin play whenever I tune into their games;not the flashiest of sides, but just play the game properly and get results. Yes a draw today, but were by far the better team from what I saw.
Stronger teams yes.
Stronger FIELD no.
Real toss up imo who will win it all.No one(At least I sure the he'll didn't lol) thought last year it would be Rangers against Frankfurt.

For example there is no doubt MU (Europa league) is certainly better than Tottenham (CL)
But if you look at the overall FIELD, all the teams, the CL is stronger Imo. Frostys point is still a good one Imo.

I know what "Team vs the field" means. It means the "favourite vs the rest of the teams", but in this case the example doesn't work. "Field" and "teams" means the same on this context.

The Europa league might have, for example, the best 5 individual teams compared to the CL best 5 teams.

I think they might have stronger individual teams.
But I think the entire field of CL teams is stronger than the entire field of the Euro Teams.
I think MU and Barcelona could be playing the best soccer of any two teams in the world right now.
But on the whole the CL is stronger. But I had already stated this. Just did not mention the two teams above.

P/S: no matter the language you use to comunicate, the distinction between "field" and "teams" will never be not dumb, tbh. In either case you could have said "better field not, but I think the top Europa league teams are better than the CL top teams". Now that's a sentence that makes sense.

This is it. Teams is plural because it means more than one team but it DOES NOT necessarily mean all the teams, or said another way, the FIELD.

In this statement he (maybe mistakenly means) the Europa FIELD.
ONLY writing the FIELD means the ENTIRE Europa league in total. (And I assume the Europa league FIELD as it currently stands.
I then stated teams yes, then take your pick.
But then said the FIELD, NO.
Its not that hard. In Las Vegas they use the term FIELD extensively. And if you bet the field in a horse race you are betting EVERY horse in a particular race (compe ion). And sometimes you make a lot of money because a 99-1 shot wins. You could do the same for the Europa FIELD as it stands now. The FIELD has been whittled down.
