Rivals reporting DE Collin Clay of Oklahoma City, OK plans on taking an unofficial visit to UT this spring.
He recently released a Top 10, but UT wasn't on it simply because they haven't offered.

More from S Jalen Catalon on his unofficial visit to UT this past weekend (Inside Texas):
"It went really good," said Catalon. "We went with coach Naivar and his son (Gunnar) to the ballpark, watched how the team warmed-up, watched how they played, and everything. They told me they want me to play baseball at UT and that I'd have every opportunity to play. That was exciting. They like me as an outfielder."
"He's legit," Catalon said about Naivar. "He's really a nice guy, love how down to Earth he is, and we discuss everything. We touch on the basics of life, things that are more important than football and sports. He cares about you as an athlete, but also as a man."
"My dad (Sherman) likes the city of Austin, likes the family atmosphere, and is all about the bonding and environment here at Texas," Catalon explained. "The coaches, in football and baseball, seem genuine and we just love the environment."

TFloss, again, great job with all the upkeep on the first page.
It prompted me to think about our incoming freshman and the following question comes to mind before we really get into assessment:
Which incoming freshman has the best chance to become a starter besides er the kicker?
Anyone got a freshman and an insight. I would rather the choice be a player who forces his way on due to outstanding practice, not given the job because we might be more susceptible to depth/injury problems In that area with clearly better upperclassmen starters injured.
I will throw in Coburn? Any thoughts. Any early enrolled player?
And I realize we are not getting much yet from the Spring and course summer or fall, thus the timing of the question.

And if a incoming freshman does not start anytime next season,is this most likely a good thing?
If you have to play a true Freshman out of necessity it's rarely a good thing, unless that player has very special talent and extreme maturity (Connor Williams, DJ, Malik come to mind).
But i do believe some freshman, especially at the skill positions will help with depth this year. Our incoming corners and safeties are a pretty talented group and will help with depth and on special teams.
All of the big guys will red shirt with the exception of Coburn. He'll play as a Freshman to help with depth.
All QB's should red shirt. The best collage QB of all time red-shirted for us.
My .02 cents here.
Oh, the punter he'll play out of the gate.

Since the new rule of being able to play in 4 games and still maintain your redshirt, I think all will play some, but after the 4 games, I think you will see some WRs and our RB get regular playing time. I also think one or two of the DBs will make the rotation.
Inside Texas reporting newly offered LB Spencer Lytle of Bellflower, CA is scheduled to be in College Station this weekend.
He is trying to set up a visit to Austin too while he's in Texas.
24/7 reporting WR Garrett Wilson and WR Elijah Higgins will be at the spring game in April.
According to 24/7, OL Branson Bragg of Crandall plans on meeting with the UT coaches on March 31st once Texas Relays is over.
This rule has not passed yet, but hopefully it will soon. I believe there's unbelievable support for it to happen and could pass for 2018. I just haven't seen where it's been approved.
I've never been to a spring game. Do you have to buy tickets early or can I get them at the stadium the day of?
Uh oh these boys all the way bought into the S&C program. Never seen so much positive talk of a strength coach.
It's free.
Just show up at DKR and sit wherever you want.
Per The Football Brainiacs, OL Branson Bragg of Crandall will be on campus this weekend with his family.
Like Inside Texas, they also mentioned he will be on campus for Texas Relays, so it's possible they're confused about the dates.
I will follow up if I see clarification.
And don't forget the cash for the $8 cold beers!![]()
