Whats cool about this is the US can let California drive themselves nuts with regulations. We can sit back and let them do the experiments. When they get so bogged down, or actually lead in something significant, we learn. Having 50 states has its advantages.

    https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/...ide-fact-sheet

The valedictorian of my HS class had a career as a top food chemist at Frito-Lay in Dallas. Part of his work was how to reduce/remove acrylamide from F-L's food-like crap. So acrylamide as cancerogenic has been well known for many years.

    https://academic.oup.com/jnci/article/94/12/876/2519770

But no worries, BigChem/BigCorp has poisoned us all already, along with air, water, earth, for profit. We really have no defense against BigChem.

(btw, Monsanto Bayer attempting merger in EU, and no doubt elsewhere. )

Cancer-causing coffee? yawn. And probably the darker roasts, more heat longer, causes more acrylamide and reduces caffeine.

An NPR said, the science of the health effects of coffee are very mixed. So many variables, so many varieties from so many soils.

It displays carcinogenic qualities at 10,000x established levels. Give it a break.

    They do innovate as well.
    Just thayn.

China is absolutely poisoning their air. I expect them to have some pretty significant research into air quality after poisoning their population. Sad but true.
California drives me nuts when I have tried to fish with my brother off Santa Barbara. They don't even know their own rules. You call to try to get clarification on regions or zones of size, species, seasons... they say look at their website. We are calling BECAUSE the website is not clear. "Err on the side of caution ", well thanks for that.

Those rankings are laughable... and Texas is #46. I'm assuming you agree with that too?

True that. The levels in coffee of this chemical are vanishingly small.

The bar for the warning is "any" at all, is dumb.

Any good evidence-based policy would consider that. Hopefully they will get it fixed.

Don't forget Oklahoma too. It's getting close to getting its credit downgraded, if memory serves.
