Considering who watches local news, I'm not sure it will make too much of a difference.
I've had issues with local news since long before Sinclair started working its way towards a virtual monopoly. Constant crime coverage reinforcing racial prejudice, very little strong coverage of municipal issues.
It's been dumbing people down for decades. But its audience is dying off so fortunately it won't be relevant much longer.
Body counts are always good for ratings. But this is a new low with the terrorism alert desk and the Trump fellation you see on these stations Sinclair owns.
Oh for sure, it's definitely worse and will continue to get worse as they try to hold onto ratings.
I know right CNN and MSNBC strictly going for ratings instead of reporting real news.

Oddly enough, the local Fox news rag in New York isn't sucking Trump's 24/7 like Fox News Network does.

One of the stations had 3 anchors, Channel 5/Tegna?, do segment about keeping local news local and not being dictated by, eg, Sinclair stuffing Boris Ephstein up everybody's noses.
or maybe it was 4. Delaine was one of the speakers.
In any case, no doubt that FCC will approve Sinclair taking over 100s more stations as Ministry of Truth part of the oligarchy's coup d'etat
