The first black........has always interested me.
Would you believe the first black NFL QB was............Willie Thrower......?
The first "World's Fastest Human"...was the black Howard Drew he ran back around 1912, he was also the first black to hold a sprint world record, a 9.6 yards.
The first black too have a 1000 yard NFL season was Niner Joe "The Jet" Perry (Compton JC), he was also the first RB to have consecutive 1000 yard seasons.
The first black to win an Academy Award....Hattie McDaneil...Gone With The Wind.
The first black to play football in the old SWC....SMU's WR Jerry Levias.
The first black to win the Olympic 100m, Eddie Tolan 1932 out of Michigan. If not for injury Drew would have done that in 1912.
The first black to win the Heisman...Ernie Davis...Syracuse.
Who can talk about the slave who won so much $$$$$$$ for his owner he was given his freedom, and....ended up in Europe fighting for the Championship....who?

What a shame black Temple sprinter Eulace Pea was injured, he was beating up on Jesse Owens in the 100. And if he'd been at those 36 Berlin Olympics he would have stood a great chance at winning the gold.
The first great all black 4x1 team could have been....
Jesse Owens....Eulace Pea ...Mack Robinson*** ...Ralph Metcalfe
*** older brother of baseball legend Jackie Robinson, who while at Pasadena City College led the nation in the long jump.
Im reading some of your posts now and I realize you really do know some .
Dude, born July 5 1949, got into track, music, football, rasslin' around 8ish (them blues in the late 60's). I own books, and subscribe to magazines and have this phobia about not knowing something when it comes to my interests. Yep, the real deal.
Why people fight it like they do only happens here, everywhere else the knowledge is appreciated.
BUT......I do get a kick out of all this, it is funny watching people around someone who does know it all. They get all goofy.

Where would we be if blacks had stayed in Africa? Look at the NBA, NFL, our Olympic teams, the music world.
Every single day I listen to something black, talk about something black.
You still holding to this?
^ derp's sad lonely Saturday night research
Who cares honestly.. where's the blowwwwwwwww
