    I like Zhaire athleticism, defense, but lacks shooting sample to know that he can hit them regularly. He does not initiate his own offense. With Mills maybe getting moved to clear cap, Spurs need shooters, and it’s a plus if they can create their own offense. Donte can do everything that Zhaire does, even recorded 42 vertical in the combine, and he can shoot deep 40%, can initiate offense, PNR, spot ups, put backs. It’s remarkable that he’s available at 18 and even late first round. This is a deep draft! Maybe trade down as part of Pau package? Cavs has athletes who cannot shoot. Houston missed 27 straight, but that’s D’Antoni

    Shooting 38% from deep, 7” wingspan with 42 vertical. He has standing reach same as Kawhi, I wouldn’t mind Skogie in the 2nd round if still available. This draft is deep!

    That would be incredible. I do think Mills has some positive value so if Mills + 18 could get you to 12-15? I would do that in a heart beat but Lonnie Walker is who I want.

    Musa is not bad, 6-9 with 7 feet wingspan. Not very athletic but can score bunches in a variety of ways. Has strong personality and proven leadership. He’s being compared to Manu but taller.

    Sources: Spurs target Villanova's Spellman for a second workout

    There is no doubt the Spurs would like to resolve their in-house business involving Kawhi Leonard, but there is additional draft work to be completed.
    Though plenty of teams are looking to add a wing player or two in this year's draft, there are some valuable big men to consider, with Villanova University Omari Spellman in the mix.
    League sources told the Express-News the Spurs are targeting Spellman for a second workout before next Thursday's NBA Draft.

    The freshman forward averaged 10.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in his only season at Villanova, helping the Wildcats capture their second NCAA men's basketball championship in three years while also being named Big East Rookie of the Year.
    Scouts point out Spellman's ability to hit the 3-pointer as a significant strength. He shot 43 percent from beyond the arc; is a solid rebounder, and respectable defender.

    "(Spellman) is the new era stretch four," an NBA scout told the Express-News. "He's a little bit undersized (6-foot-9), but has a high basketball IQ. He comes from a pro system so he's a guy that can help you immediately. ... He's solid. He'll be a 10-year veteran."

    Where did you read that he has a 7 feet wingspan? Most places list him with a 6-8/6-9 wingspan. Euro wings rarely have that type of length.

    maybe they target a big who can shoot if they don’t have others players they want. they were also high on jonthay porter who is a little bit similar to spellman ( can shoot, block, rebound)

    what i don’t like about This is that spellman is an average athlete with big body fat like porter. Maybe they target two picks with trading some p’auers.

    Well, two things;

    1) You need an athletic big that can guard guys on the perimeter and switch unless you get someone like Lebron on your team. In which case, you go for an althitic wind that can make the three and defend 1 to 3 in today's NBA.

    2) I like Zhaire Smith, not that I know much about prospects, but dude is one of the most athletic players in the draft, in a draft with lots of athletic players. And he can shoot the three.

    I stand corrected. Dang this guy’s a scoring machine though and looks like an alpha playing at young age.
