Always love these threads where Avante can show off.

In 1952 Manhattens Lindy Remigino (white cat) came in fifth at the NCAA's, but.....later tha season would out lean Jamaican great Herb McKenley (still a debate about who won) to win the Olympic 100m.

The first speedy black RB in pro football was Illinois speedster Buddy Young all 5-4 of him, he won both the NCAA and our USA Nationals, talking the 40's.

O.J.Simpson made the NCAA's 100 yard finals in his day, thinking he took sixth? He also ran on the winning 4x1 team.

Avante melting down upon realizing our expert of choice doesn't need to work hard, or have his life revolve around worthless track, to be an expert on track.

Ok, time to head out, I'm not the only track fan in my orbit. I know it's hard to believe but I have a friend named Tyrone who can hang with me in track.

    One last thing......Michael Norman.

    See ya~~~~~~~~~~

I talked about can Houston and USC break the NCAA's records, yep.....both records went down.

I talked about Michael Norman, all he did was break the NCAA 400 record.

So as just a college soph he is the World Record holder in the indoor 400m, the NCAA 400m record holder and the NCAA 4x4 record holder.

Bummer is Norman could enter pro track next season, he's ready. But, we have been seeing these guys who leave that early struggle at the next level.

The biggest disappointment was Arkansas States Jaylen Bacon, he was the NCAA leader at 9.97, he didn't even make the finals. I do suspect some physical problems, not sure however.

USC and Baylor are the only schools in history with four 400m cats with sub 44.00 splits. Talking school history.

If Norman does stay in school, no telling where he will leave that NCAA 400m record. I can see a 43.2ish a very real possibility.

I have no doubts if Houston's Eli Hall had ran the 200m he's have won it. And a sub 20.00 a very real possibilty.

Tomorrow we have the women, keep and eye on Kentucky 400m hurdler Sydney McLaughlin, she is special. As just a HSer she made our 2016 Olympic team. She is already the NCAA record holder. Ran a 53.82 in 2017, that was the 7th fastest time in the world, she is just a kid.

The LSU women have speed everywhere, I see them dominating the sprints. Aleia Hobbs will win the 100m barring injury.

    I asked SFS this question

Do you see Houston and USC breaking the NCAA records in the 4x1 and 4x4?

......yep, he ignored it as usual. Yep, both records were broken.

I think it's time to accept the fact Avante knows track. Stop fighting it with all the stupid BS and learn some things.

Talk to us about that TCU team vs this Houston team, the sprinters involved. Speaking of TCU, the school has produced 8 sub10.00 sprinters, no other school has more than five. Houston has had three....Carl Lewis, Leroy Burrell, Cameron Burrell.

BUT....from an historical perspective ya can't beat USC. The Trojans have had five 100yd/m WR holders. A slew of Olympic medalists. They have NCAA records in the 4x1,4x2 and the 4x4 relays.

What do track geeks do the day after a big televised track meet? They watch it again on the DVR.

    A few things....

Eli Hall won the indoor 60 at those Champs, his teammate Cameron Burrell*** won the 100m at these. I can't recall ever seeing two different sprinters from the same school winning the 60/100.

We had never seen a mother, father and son all winning the NCAA 100m until yesterday.

Bummer that Texas A&M's 400m ace Mylik Kerley was injured. With him on that Aggie 4x4 team, that USC team would have ran even faster.

Today is all about hurdler Sydney McLaughlin and sprinter Aliea Hobbs, I expect to see big things there.

*** his father Leroy a one time 100m WR holder was also a 26 foot long jumper, something Cameron is also, making them histories only farther/son over 26 feet in the long jump.

Houston has had a history of speed.

    All Time Houston 100m

    lane

    1.Sam Jefferson NCAA Champion
    2.Joe DeLoach Olympic 200m Gold
    3.Eli Hall NCAA 60 Champ/NCAA 200m Indoor record holder/NCAA 4x1 record
    4.Leroy Burrell WR 100m
5.Carl Lewis.................in the dIscussion for USA GOAT
6.Stanley Floyd NCAA Champion/1980 top ranked sprinter in the world
7.Cameron Burrell school record holder 100m/NCAA Champion/4x1 record
    8.Kirk Baptiste sub 10.2/20.00

Look for the school to keep that going, young sprinters wanting to buy what Houston is selling.

Last season LSU's Aleia Hobbs ran a 10.85 the fifth fastest time in the world. If the weather is ok, can she better that today?

She also runs a fantastic 4x1 anchor, only shabby stick work (does happen) can stand in the way of an LSU win there.

As ya all can see SFS your track SOURCE has nothing to say about the second biggest meet in the USA this season. A track SOURCE with no track opinions. Actually it was....why waste my time watching track & field.

I told everybody.....the guy don't know .....I think this proves that, no track fan ignores the NCAA's.

As long as the midget stays away from lying about 19.5-20.5 and knowing track I'll back off, yep, even Avante has compassion for fakes and liars.

SFS it really is time to just shut up about track and we'll move on, ok?

Will now make this ANOTHER Avante show off thread. I love all the ways you little people battle reality, yep, it's ing funny. So I rub it in, it's fun. The funniest is this......nobody cares.....then 33 people vote in a fake contest, hahaha~~~~~~

Today you will notice no white female sprinters in the 100/200, why is this? And if we look back over USA history and female sprinters where are the white ones? Yes, there have been a few, but so few. Oregon had a couple recently. But when talking USA female sprinting 98%....black.

We have never had a Mexican American sprinter, or an Asian American sprinter (on a national level), why?

What can I do but accept reality?

The surprise there was a Big10 team in the medals, Ohio State. In the long history of that conference no Big10 sprinter has ever ran a sub10.00, yep, hard to believe.

The key to 4x1 sprinting (other than safe handoffs) is giving your two fastest sprinters a larger % of the race, this is done by handing off early in the zone then late. There Houston had Eli Hall their best 200m cat on that...long....second leg, you want him running more of the race than curve runners Lewis and Burke, and the same with Burrell on anchor. Why have all four sprinters running the same %, when the speed isn't the same? Some countries/school run their fastest sprinter on that..long...second leg.

Here it's pretty much just speed. Norman could have ran anywhere actually but usually ya want your stud on anchor.

Benjamin's 43.5 leg the real gem there.
