goddamn, you're in' stupidA hypothetical: Mary, a U.S. Citizen is arrested for a DUI, a misdemeanor. Mary has a child with her when arrested. Mary is incarcerated and the local police follow procedures regarding the child. No family members or relatives can be found. The child is placed in foster care until Mary's incarceration is adjudicated, one way or the other. Hey Liberals....How is this any different from Maria and her child in tow when she ILLEGALLY crosses the border, is arrested for a misdemeanor (or a felony if this is the second or second illegal entry) and is incarcerated? The child's status becomes "unaccompanied" and is placed in foster care. How is this different than how the U.S. Citizen is handled by law enforcement?
