I'm seeing this all over ST. Why so high on White? His G-league performance?
He just looks so comfortable with the compe ion in front of him.
    He clowns the G-League.
    He clowned the Summer League.

It's time for him to show his stuff in the Big League.

He has a very mature game. It's not just his stats but the fact his team won the G league and that the eye test says he can be effective in the NBA as a shooter and playmaker. He is like a 6' 5" Patty Mills.

Tbh, Dejounte Murray has looked pretty mediocre so far considering the hype that surrounded him at the draft. He's getting better but unless he significantly improves, just like Walker, he will be nothing more than an average to below average pg.

Derrick White was the 27th pick so if he breaks the rotation that means the Spurs got great value.

Murray, White, and Walker are good prospects. To compete we need to play Belli and Mills more. From that aspect it is a rather average one but DeRozan as a 3/2 helps a lot. I think we definitely have a slightly above average backcourt to start the season with a lot of potential. Small ball will likely play a role for us against most teams not GSW.
    hum..

I agree. He's already 24. If not now, when?

For sure. There is very little margin for error in the west. Sure it would be more exciting to watch the young guys play more but our best chances of building up to a playoff run this year will be with Mills and Belli taking a good chunk of the minutes along with Murray. Walker will be in G League and unfortunately lately White looks like he might get less playing time than both Mills and Belli. I hope I'm wrong and Pop sees a way to integrate White in as 20 mpg guy right out the gate and build from there but I imagine he will start off around 12 mph to start the season.

This will be a very tough coaching job this year but with all the new faces and depth I think Pop is genuinely excited and reinvigorated. Definitely look forward to seeing how this season unfolds.

IMO, he needs to do more than crack the ing rotation. He needs to push the starter to get value.. Reason why I say this is because you got god damn GSW drafting late, in the second, buying picks and , and these guys are playing big minutes and could go to other teams and play much more. The Spurs need to start getting some return for these picks or they can forget it minus a legitimate rebuilding process.

That's true but it's always been Spurs process of integrating people in slowly. I too would be ecstatic if White broke into the starting lineup over Mills. It would be awesome! Let's see, maybe I'm wrong!

Spurs need to rethink their process tbh. The league is evolving, and I get that Pop zigs when you zag, but when it comes to building a team on a retool every year, if we cant net some starters here and there (like a Danny Green being Cleveland's trash) then we're never gonna gain any traction being so compe ive each season. Drafting a guy like Kyle only to develop him to go somewhere else and be a solid role player there did nothing for us.. and that's not to say that I wanted him back for that price either.

Guys... I feel this is legit.
Of course, I just bought some new deodorant and I'm feeling an inordinate amount (like coke levels) of self-confidence right now...
But this seems legit. I mean, look at his hair!

At a mall? In a game? For a paid appearance? In San Antonio? Austin?
Here's to Pop giving Lonnie some real minutes to give him some meat to eat, off the bone.

    I'm hoping for the best.
