Enjoy watching mid-range-a-palooza from the bench. Pop isn’t going to play Lonnie any meaningful minutes. Maybe next year kid!

It’s how they learn the system, plays, and defense schemes.

I think the most recent years the only rookie who did not play in G league is Traitor. But also, he was the mid 1st round pick vs the other rookie picked at late 1st round.

Because laye first rounders hardly get time on contenders. It's not just Spurs. Plus G league runs same plays so this way they are developed faster and more prepared to play when their number is called up.

remember those guys in their rookie years who did well against teams in the rs, but never got a minute in the playoffs against the same team where spurs choked it away?

Blair comes to mind. Yea his defense was but him and Manu in pick and roll was money. If you watch a Blair video i bet Manu is in almost every other play. Same with Manus between the leg videos. Always see Blair

Thanks for helping out all those kids with the gift cards.. appreciate the fact that you've already done more for our community in 2 months than a certain former Spur in 7 years

I like him to get the minutes, but with the log-jam at guard and the development of DJ, White and occasional PNR by Demar, he’ll be riding the bench and seeing a lot of trips to Austin. I really wish he could start though. He needs to develop a consistent 3 to be a reliable 3 and D to replace Green. Then he could earn his minutes and surprise everyone. This guy has a lot of swagger and really thinks he’s the best out there. I hope he’s right.

The consensus seems to be that his form is good enough to shoot better 3s than the percentage (35) that he has so far.

I am OK going the G League way in the beginning to let Belli, Manu, DMR, Gay, LMA, get used to playing together. After quarter of season he needs to be getting some burn to let older guys rest up for end of season run.
