Still bad logic. John Ross ran a faster 40m than Hill. But his 100m is way slower.

It works like this....

A fast football player can hang with a sprinter for around 40 yards, that distance is just too short to seperate acceleration from actual speed.

Sprinters don;t start hitting that top end/max velocity until around 50ish, then they can maintain that MV for 20ishm or so, then they enter into the decelleration phase. Here is where speed endurance steps in, those with it are able to sustain MV longer and decell at a slower pace. We see none of that in a 40.
