Hate to break it to you but Jack Reacher isn't real.
In the very first Jack Reacher novel..KILLING FLOOR (I think Child got that le from a 1930 Skip James tune, "Hard Times Killing Floor" ) he's in Georgia trying to find out just what did happen to blues icon Blind Blake, he just disappeared, well he did come up with a theory....read the book.
Anyway.....
Lee Child knows them blues.
This is a cover of an old Gus Cannon Jug Stompers tune, and he's doing his best Gus Cannon impersonation. Like Blind Blake, Cannon started recording in the mid 20's.

A TV adaptation of the blockbuster action movie, Jack Reacher, is said to be in the works – and, bizarrely, Tom’s height might be the reason for the remake.
The Mission: Impossible actor played the iconic character in two movies – 2012’s Jack Reacher: One Shot and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, which was released in 2016.
However, despite Tom’s a-list acting credentials, fans of the franchise were apparently less than thrilled with the casting. Unfortunately for Tom, his height has proved to be a source of contention for those who have read the Reacher novels.
As I said those who know the books aren't cool with a midget Jack Reacher. Those with no clue who Reacher is, yep, no clue who Reacher is.

Jack is having his morning coffee in a little truckers diner just west of Galveston. As he looks around for a refill in walks a big man with an angry scowl on his face, the guy is huge. It's more of a bellow when he says....anyone seen Rita? Not a peep, so he walks over to Reacher...."never seen you behore son, whats your name" Jack looks out the window, turns back to finish off his coffee, the big man......"I asked you a question son." Jack looks over to the waitress..."refill please" Then he looks right into the eyes of the big man, "first off big mouth I'm not your son, as you can see I look nothing like you, I'm not ugly. Now go sit your fat ass down before you really piss me off"
The big man just stands there, as all eyes are on his back. He finally..."sorry, have a nice day"...then he just walked away.
